Agree. They are missing a backrow punch but forgot that Fermor is out injured. When he comes back & give the kids another year of NRL they do look good.

You’re comparing apples with oranges. An 80min NRL quality player to a 40min fringe or an injury prone player that has had 2 ok games at NRL level.

Bateman is a NRL starter and wouldn’t have an issue finding another NRL club if shopped around heck Parra paid 600k for Joffa within a week of being shopped. The Raiders paid a fortune for him before he left & that was before the cap increase happened. $700k isn’t ridiculous spend in today’s cap it’s the new $500k these days & someone would pay it easily for him. That’s how the economy works.

Blore has apparently been shopped around for weeks, hasn’t been snapped up yet despite us having him on contract next season (normally means we tip in). Seyfarth is off contract still for next season.

My point is no supporter is happy with our results or where we are sitting on the ladder.
Every supporter knows we need some star quality players that can help us climb the ladder and become a competitive team.
Every supporter would realise to even be a remote chance of signing star quality players, we have to offer and pay a lot more than most other NRL teams.
To have the ability to do this we cannot over pay toilers who are not capable of doing anything special to help us win games.

We need to get 4 halves for next season but I agree with your point. Go and pick out the best juniors and go from there. Some won't come but surely we can get a couple.

My realistic preference is re-sign Brooks and Wakeham but go and get two gun juniors coming through. Brooks wants to go so go and get another cheapish option.

The ideal situation would have been to get Moses or Munster but that didn't happen. I don't think Hunt is in that class but you'd take him on the right contract.

Hey, Friendly announcement for all those shouting "Hastings" or "Hunt"
Knights are on 14th with 2x SOO front rowers.
Dragons are on 16th.

I fail to see why people are fixed on these two players. Yes they are good players and in Hunt's case better then the roster depicts. Neither though can dig their team out of the hole they are in.

Why if were going to recruit halfbacks. Why not set up for say 1.6m for DCE? Way over valued but one of the few halfbacks that can win a game when their team is outmuscled... OR make a pitch for Olam, have storm blow their cap to keep him then make a play for J Hugues?

Were offering more then 1 Million and have several strong players in our team. Lets stop offering overs for the Dregs.

Hunt himself has been subject to some pretty harsh comments. I recall reading his wife's defence of him in an article which I have attached. In view of this, how could any WTs' supporter seriously believe he would consider WTs? Chickens coming home to roost?
