If it happens, I'm really excited to see Brooks play at Manly - and hope he smashes it. Should be a very nice pairing if DCE continues to play the way he has been.

I'm pumped for Fainu but his career will go the same way as Brooks' if he doesn't have a decent halfback to support. Actually happy for Brooks and wish him all the success, if not to stick it up to those who have pinned Tigers on field failures onto him.

Hunt has been copping it too from Dragons fans. Blamed solely for their losses is why he wants out.

You will see Brooks play like he did against the Cowboys At Leichhardt every week once he’s playing outside a quality 7 in DCE.
Latu Fainu no doubt looks to have massive potential and I’m very happy he’s rumoured to be signing with Wests Tigers, but he won’t be in the same class as Luke Brooks as a running 5/8 for at least 2 years.
Manly will walk into the top 8 with Brooks playing 6 for them, while Wests Tigers will remain in the bottom 3 waiting on young players with potential to develop.

He will crumble under pressure when the game is on the line .that's his biggest flaw

GI whipped it at Centre. So many people seem to push for Halfback and 5/8 but you get a Centre who can add a dynamic to the attack and you are really scoring. Jamie Lyon is the example that stands out to me, a decent 5/8 but brillant at Centre. Likewise Pat Richards who made the most try assists as a winger for us.

Had a look on manly forum after speculation and they're pretty universally filthy he's going. That's usually a solid sign. Basically, he's their best talent, 'generational' player type thing with lots having followed him through the juniors.

Same frustration there at management as we have and this is sort of 'final nail in coffin' type move to them. Only thing they say that's negative is gang connections, but that seems more a snobbish northern beaches contempt for the western suburbs and most of their forum shot that down pointing to Latu's impeccable record and brilliant development and play.

I'd just caution that we've had hopes shattered before, so let's not pencil him in just yet.

Sadly, he had 11 years to show that he can play the role the WT need.
His main weapon - his speed - he used it once every 10th blue moon
His short passes were often too hard, and behind the receiver, his short kicks were often too long, and bombs too shallow and presented the basis for the opponent counter attack.

Find it very odd that Manly choose Brooks as there 6 over either Schuster and Fainu....

He is better than both of these guys now. They probably want to get rid of Schuster since he is on a big contract and doesn't seem to take his footy seriously.

Fainu could be anything but he could also be a dud. I really hope we get him and he turns into a gun but a lot has to happen prior to things turning out positively for us.

Terribly out of form. Has always relied on his speed but may need to improve his game in other areas if he wants to see out his career at FB at his beloved Roosters.

He looks terrible doesn't he. He looks to me like a big uncoordinated dude trying to play footy without any talent. I know that is harsh but he was terrible for NSW and I watched the Rorters on the weekend and he was terrible again.

How long before the mental health card comes out. As much as i hate players signing contracts and then suddenly wanting to leave, i think saints would be better off letting him go and demanding either replacement players from broncs and GC or demand a massive compensation payout from both clubs.

Im reasonably confident Latu will end up being the Brooks replacement i only ever saw him as a 6, its probably best for all involved it ends this way. Now the question is who is our halfback going to be, its been the question that needed answering for years not just the past couple.
I hope we dont end up with Schuster out of all this, i know Benji said he's not the answer and im on board with that but i can't see him staying at Manly now. Maybe he becomes another domino to fall elsewhere and another opportunity becomes available.

I think he will do well with a genuine playmaker like DCE calling the shots. Shame the club never saw the light early and partnered him with a genuine 7.

Which is what we should have done with Brooks when Moses left. Will be interesting to see if we have learnt anything in that time or will we try and turn Fainu into an organising 7.
