Luke Brooks #167

Perfect team for Luke.

Organising half and leader already there...

X factor FB already there.

Several ball playing forwards there.

Leaders like Jake T and DCE already there.

All he will have to do is run and play off the cuff.

Perfect spot. Good luck to him.

Just a weird story … I was at the Lord Alfred before Origin last Wednesday. Apparently I look a bit like brooks (which offends me because of the Imp likeness) but anyway … bunch of blues supporters catch me coming from the bar and call ‘Brooksy’. At least they said I had an inch on him … anyway they FaceTimed me with Brooks in his living room. Brooks was as shocked as me. Noisy as hell but we had very brief confused chat. Thumbs up. He ain’t no talker for sure. Was fun as a fan. I was tempted to ask for my membership fees back 😂. Then I had to watch my team get thumped at Suncorp. See ya Brooksy!

All good points but if he still can't pass for a try assist or grubberwell then it doesn't matter who he's has next to him.

Hel play just as he has here.

We survived from 2007 until now without an organising half....
Well before Brooks's time....

We looked good when we had Lui and he was an organising half back even though he was an obnoxious wife beater. We may have survived but that is hardly a sign of being any good, when we had Ellis and Lui we were good apart from that .........

Why would anyone hope he does well at Manly when we have got nothing from our investment.
Il'l be interested to see how he goes but have to say feeling a bit dirty at him when the two coaches both made it clear that they wanted him and moved on players to back him. I get why he wants out but as soon as he is in their jumper and starts the talking like a Manly player that's it no love loss.
The cult of Brooks is so committed to their prophet that facts and logic mean nought.
Brooks will continue to play like busted with one highlight every 4 weeks, just like he did for us and his disciples will worship the one highlight.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for me I am a bit torn over this news.
On one hand I’m happy for Brooks because i think he might get a chance to play with some quality players with less of a focus on him expected to do everything - he may even play Finals footy over the next few years. I have always thought that Brooks has been one Tigers player that has tried his best - it may not have always worked out, but his effort has always been there. Also considering the general standard of WT players compared to the rest of the players in the NRL - in my view he has more than often been one of our best.
On the other hand, I’m saddened and disappointed that we have absolutely no replacement lined up that will help us to improve and that there doesn’t seem to be any genuine options in the market to replace him.
Whatever your own thoughts- I believe he should be respected for the way he has conducted himself under relentless pressure and much strain, and wholeheartedly thanked for his efforts at this club. Anything less is just poor sportsmanship and rubbish behavior.
