We have to live with it’: Sheens frustrated about Brooks’ Manly exit

Can't understand why there is any feeling from anyone that we undercut/have done bad by Brooks.
He has been signalling for sometime that he wanted out and of course no one would have known that better than his manager and all close to him at the club - including his team mates. No coincidence he has ended up at Manly and while clubs don't like dealing with IMoses he knows how to get a deal done for his clients.

The most concerning thing for me is Brooks' departure left an opening for which the new recruitment manager attempted to immediately fill with an overpriced, overrated dud which his good mate manages. Is he working in WT best interests or Mario Tartaks?
Who's the dud?

leaving a coach without a halfback. in rugby league the equivalent of shit creek.
Yep agree, but Sheens left the half back cupboard pretty bare himself by not retaining the halves we had on the books in 2022, with know ‘locked in’ replacements. Dumb

Yes, by letting Madden and Hastings go he threw all his eggs in the LB basket, now with
Brooks jumping overboard it exposes what has been a potential weak spot all year.
Maybe he thought that he could induce one of the leading lights to come to us. Wrong answer,
I liked two of his comments on his most recent interview,
1) things fall out of a tree in this game and,
2) Laurie is a strong tackler.
Both to be confirmed.

To be honest i dont really read into what the media says anymore. Hooper and co are just gutter journo's with no substance. The moment TV gave journalists a face on TV shows and creditably they had went with it.
They are gossip people and poor spin doctors. They do not care who they hurt or lies they tell as long as people read it or watch it.

Look at crap Hooper says about the Roosters and Robinson and then basically backtracks. Waste of space.

Everyone knows bringing in Fulton without telling Benji and Sheens was a risk and poor leadership but Fulton's job is recruit the right type of players in line with Benji's vision. Fulton is not there to be a yes man but to challenge the status quo and then get the deals over the line on the agreed targets.
He will either sink or swim.....many have tried and failed over the years in this job.

As if you’d believe anything Sheens says.
We’ve been chasing a halfback the entire year… Brooks was never going to be the main bloke here.
To prove how stupid he is Sheens thought he’d have no trouble getting someone of note. Without considering that plan might fail, or allowing for possible injuries, he jettisoned all remaining stocks of ‘real’ halfbacks and left us stuck in a hole.
Now it’s up to Fulton to save us…. hopefully.

I'm starting to believe the Fulton appointment was a trojan horse to steal our slim pickings. He has yet to deliver anything our way.

Lets see how Fulton holds up. I’m giving him 12mths to measure how he goes.

He has been in the job that in some construct had a plan in place that he needed to break down & understand whilst working on what is needed, what needs to change, bin and replace etc.

Recruiting isn’t easy even for the top sides their are alot of mechanics involved these days especially with how much money is around the NRL let alone union world cup as well (cap structure, incentive structures - games, rep etc, sponsor, 3rd party, moving, transportation, positional and player guarantees - yes some ask this, competing clubs etc).

Sometimes things pop up and you have an hour or so to respond others take months to breakdown. Add to this it’s not just a now plan but future view also and he would be running a million miles an hour atm.
