Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That’s the frustration of it all. A season wasted when it could’ve been sorted out much earlier, even pre-season! It took Brooks to finally have some self respect and move on and now the club is all in a tailspin because there was no preparation made for this possibility. Extremely incompetent, imo. Some of the most successful and experienced former players, coaches, trainers etc are onboard at our club, it boggles my mind too that they can all be so clueless 😞
My frustration with it all isn't that Brooks is gone but that it's still crickets, they say they want Latu Fainu how long does it take to offer the kid and his brother a contract. They just seem so blasey about it all. Everyone on the forum will argue amongst ourselves at times but we are all a huge family who want the same thing, we just want the team we love to find some success, while the players, coaches and admin can come and go were stuck in this mess we can't just pack it in and walk. What they are doing to us fans is so wrong, it is imo disgracefull. We can argue amongst our selves but all want the same thing, I'm confident the way they've treated the fan base over the last 10 years is nothing short of a joke.

Heard a little whisper that Dragons are making some calls around both Fainu brothers. I was told the deal with Latu and Tigers is imminent, however Dragons are making some last minute calls.

Dolphins have been notified he’s not going there.

The overall belief however is the Fainu boys will be Wests Tigers players in 2024 so time will tell.
Teddy we finally need some good news, if we can get this kid across the line it shows we are moving forward and might look better to prospective players.
Fingers crossed.

Dragons are desperate and Shane F working with them now does not help us.
Hope we have not low balled them and miss out.

After seeing a little bit of dragons game last night they might be in panic mode

Apart from Munster Moses and the phone call to Pearce has their been anything confirmed of who’s been approached

I’m sure that will go down well for Sullivan, Amone and Slone.

If it’s between the Tigers and Dragons, surely we are a shoe in.

1). Join their brother at the WT
2). chance to be coached by Golden boot 5/8, Benji.
3). chance to play with their mates in Feledy, etc
4). their manager is close to Benji.
5) . Fulton connection.
6). WT are less of a basket case than Dragons.
7). Less competition for their first grade spot with the WT.

hope they do sign with the WT, and we swap Latu for Talau this year

Wouldn’t be surprised if Amone somehow ends up at the Dolphins soon, I think Dragons are starting to lose there patience with him.

“St George can’t play” Allan Langer after the Broncos beat the Dragons in the Grand Final.

I think everyone's version of success this season is quite interesting.

For many, I expect that making the playoffs would be success. Or no less than winning a premiership perhaps?

But in reality- are the current Tigers anywhere near that level?

For some, I expect this season was always going to be a fail.

I don't THINK Api, Klemmer, Bateman etc will actually win a premiership with us.

But, if Tallyn Da Silva, Pole, Utoikamanu, Matamua, Bula etc learn how to compete from these guys, then it's money well spent.

I think if we view success in terms of how much closer we get with the squad's ability to a premiership challenging squad- I think we are ahead on last year. Tupou, Bula, Pole, Da Silva all look like long term GOOD players. If we can add Fainu, excellent. To'a looks to be stepping into that group. There are a promising handful of forwards at the club in their early 20's. there's an even larger handful coming through the next level of junior ranks.

Sheens came into the job saying 'development club' & that his job was to get the squad ready for Benji. I honestly believe he has the squad heading in that direction.
Great post. I thought most of us were on the same page about what our expectations were for this year. I agree the squad is heading in the right direction and with Fainu and a few additions of very talented younger players, which is achievable, the momentum will continue. It's not without pain for me with Brooks departing but I am a WTs' supporter first
