Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

When is the last time our CEO has made a statement ? He hired Fulton to solve our recruitment problems ! How's that going ?
He said his precious Center of Excellence ( Excellence ? What a joke ) would be a magnet to attract top talent ! How's that going ?
2 things ( apart from putting in the worst performance in NRL history )concern me
- At the post game press conference Sheens sounded " defeated " saying he had no answers and that there's very little in our Cup squad who can help and its too early for promising youngsters . Basically no answers !
- The team looked anything but a team .They look a disjointed rabble .No marker defence ,wingers left stranded .Effort non existent. Cold drops by many They looked an unhappy group even before kick off .yet a few weeks ago at Leichardt the complete opposite
I would love to know what was said and done especially by our Chief Executive in the last few weeks to achieve this
A happy harmonious group working for each other to a very unhappy group who don't appear to give a *+×!
To the Boss -step down or most of the fans will ! Last night really hurts ! Get it !

Didn’t the same thing happen last year during second half of the season after the coach got punted?

the management and players at the club just give up halfway through the season and go through the motions,,

AFL people aren’t coming to the NRL
Absolutely no reason why not. These guys are top sports administrators who would be able to apply their skills to another sport. You have to sell them on the challenge of the new role and give them a remuneration package to match the challenge. I'd offer someone like Harley a package that could see him earn up to $1m a year if he meets KPIs. I'm talking real KPIs involving position on the ladder, financial performance and number of new members brought in and existing members retained, not airy-fairy stuff.

no… they just don’t do it… they treat their sport like a religion… and that would be heresy

I posted the Lomax scoop a couple of months ago about him wanting out and we’re a good chance at picking him up - idk if that has changed these last couple of months but expect our name to be thrown around as a potential suitor… massive tigers fan and grew up idolising Benji. He was very close to being with us a couple of years ago.

Lomax and To’a as a centre combination for the next 10 years could be dangerous and he kicks goals too

But as last night shown… we need a whole lot more than just a centre but it’s a step in the right direction at least.

he would only come here if no one else wanted him

He'd be one option, if on a modest contract. It's clear that all of the centres currently at the club are not of sufficient quality. They are all backups at best

Lomax is not the answer here, he is a dumb , selfish player that makes a lot of very silly decisions,,, we have plenty of those players already

Might have something to do with tossing a player to the curb who was the best and fairest last year abx recommitted to the club only last Sept after an horrendous season.
Whether or not it was a good financial decision or not it was appalling for morale and culture.

Lomax has his issues but he's so much better than what we have...

Some turning their nose up at him when that's the reality, he'd be our best and most experienced outside back.

If Flanagan has moved Lomax on before he gets in the door - take notice for godsake!!
Doesn't even want to have a crack at coaching him given his youth and physicality - massive red flags. We need effort players.

I agree… they dont want him…alarm bells should be ringing …

the situation reminds me of Mbye … he was crap here … they took him of our hands and guess what… he was crap there
