Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There was nothing to lose. Only gain. Right now they are in pain. No sun, no rainbows. Only black clouds and rain.
Maybe they should have just given BG a go this year...
Ben Gardiner was a former PDHPE teacher at my children’s school. His an intelligent and level headed young man. I was sorry to see him leave the school to take up a role with the Roosters, and delighted when he was appointed assistant coach at the tigers last year. I recall he coached one NRL game for tigers last year. The game we lost to the cowboys in Townsville. I thought the tactics that game were spot on. His press conference after the game was refreshing. I wish he wasn’t moved on at the end of last season, but happy for him to be at the Panthers where he can further develop. He is a NRL coach in waiting.

But he was not in the boys club.

Has some heart, Derek.
So do you. You have heart. What are you trying to say. Im listening. We are listening. Keppie? Is this the way out. I dont follow players. Sorry. I follow leaders cause I'm growing as a loser. I guess right now my goal is to exchange the letter S in loser with the letter V. I dont have all the answers. Keppie. Go you good thing.

Re-signing Staines & Laurie covers FB, wing & 5/8.

Latu Fainu to cover 7/6

Sam Fainu to the bench- 2nd row

Zac Fulton- 13

Brad Parker/Mawene Hiroti/Adam Pompey/Bradman Best/ Paul Momorovski- #3/#4

Keio Weekes- Wing/Centre

Hymel Hunt/ Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega/Waqa Blake/ COREY ALLEN- Wing

Clune/Sezar/Cogger/Walker/Trindall/Taaffe/Schneider/Lam/Pearce....Mbye? (insert additional names here)- 7/6

Bayley Sironen/Corey Waddell/Bryce Cartwright- 2nd Row depth

Obviously some of these players are not exactly 'exciting', but the right combinations can give the squad the right mix.

There is money to spare, so no need to be super frugal. BUT- the club needs to learn from previous mistakes- don't overspend on talent. For example- I'd be happy for Mbye to be back, on $300k. But $800k would cause a riot.

If he IS available- the team is in position to throw good money at Sam Walker. If they can make him a marquee signing, fill the roster with solid players, with our forwards & the young players coming through...
Might be a top 8 KOE cup side that one

So we are in a similar position with Sheens to before our 05 success. We could only recruit players with ability if they were returning from major injury (Scott Prince & Pat Richards) or solid experienced players who Sheens felt were good for culture & could find their potential at the Tigers (Hodgson, Whatuira, Elford).

I’m wondering whether players with similar experience who have a point to prove & yet to hit their peak may be our target.

Three can think of off the top of my head are Lachlan Lam, Connor Tracey & Blake Taafe.

Any others that fit the profile?
