Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Taafe or Volkman is a start.But I’m assuming they’d be a Band-Aid.
The Club has most likely come to the realisation that no marquee halve will come here .
I think Benji and Co will pin their hopes on Galvin and Large.Few years away before they are anywhere near First Grade ready.
Banking on potential is always a massive risk ,unfortunately we don’t have an option.
My biggest fear is that we are still getting belted every week when we bring these kids in.I’m not sure on the solution to getting our squad competitive,I thought our pack was decent but without Api we looks terrible.
Gee I hope we are banking on these kids in two to three years away, the good back we got now will all be retiring then then we start again this merry go round will never end , I say sheens and benji get of ur arses and pick up two half’s that this forum have picked out and at least give it a try rather than doing nothing

Benji and Sheens have picked out plenty of good halves. Club can’t close a deal.
If they cant sign an experienced half, they may go after a younger player on a shorter contract but it would be a hail mary? It appears their intention is to keep the pathway open.

Was keen on Moses, Brooks, Munster as well....
Benji is a Rookie coach 6 months into an apprenticeship, I'd take Seibold and Flanagans opinion on the kid over Benjis'... And they've decided to let him walk.... And his brother.

Either way, Benji could have a photo of him in his wallet
- Doesn't make him NRL quality as you previously speculated.

Even if he is, He's 18!!
That won't be known for 4 years.... (3 Years at best.)
Anyone banking on him before he's 22 is an idiot.
Will play NRL next year.

Brodie Croft is absolutely not an option, if we are being fair dinkum - which this club rarely is.

A - He has signed a long term deal with Salford.
B - He is a very average footballer which is why he is no longer in the NRL.

If you are in the Storm system, and are ear marked as Cooper Cronk's replacement, yet that Storm team lets you go in favour of playing a journeyman fullback in the 7 (Jahrome Hughes) you definitely aren't the solve for another club. I would mark Brodie Croft as one of Craig Bellamy's few fails.

We have to be talking to Luke Metcalf, who is a great runner of the football. He would definitely be a solve in the 6 position, and as someone rightly mentioned on this forum earlier, thinking outside the box for someone like Ben Stevanovic in the Bears NSW Cup team is a smart play.

I am not a Jake Clifford fan either, but we are fast running out of options, exposing the terrible planning and retention 'strategies' our club is employing.

Whoever we get in 6 or 7 needs to be signed soon with the intent of having a full pre-season with the team.
