Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sheens looked real childish when he told the press conference media that he hasn’t been told anything about Talau going to Manly early - he was sooking big time - not a good look, I think he might be a control freak and is throwing his toys out of the cot.
Can’t believe he leaves Matamua out of the line up .. even though Seyfarth has pulled his finger out the past couple of games (finally) Matamua has far more to offer … I think Sheen has been a bit smug after extending Matamua - like he’s tied him up so he won’t be going anywhere but seriously this is why our promising players get the Jack and kick stones … Sheensy loves a Frankenstein project … memories of Daniel Fitzhenry anyone?
DERP!!!

Sheens is the "control freak"????

How about the f-wit CEO and Chairman - who can't help themselves from interfering in the fricking FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT when they have told the media they are hands off!!!???

Look at Ricky if you want to see a coach who is control freak!!

I would be absolutely fuming if we signed that big mouthed prick.
NSW won game 3 tonight because they finally dropped this turd.
Harsh. His a culture character. I doubt he leaves Penrith, but he could make his own name here.
Cody is the best playmaker in the game. Ideally if he was off contact in November he would be a better pick up I agree but Luai still has plenty to offer and you could build a team around him and Api in the spine.

Seibold needs results before Daly retires. He's sees that to be more likely with Brooks than Fainu who, obviously, will take some time to be a huge difference maker. He needs to win now.

The Brooks signing (kinda) gives them a transition plan post DCE and with salary cap pressure, carrying an expensive untried rookie for two years until his time comes is too much of a squeeze.

We don't have that cap pressure and we don't have any sort of halves, much less a logjam, so from that perspective, I think for Manly it does make some sense.

Oh, what Manly have done makes plenty of sense, possibly apart from the 4 year deal bit.

It's the WT approach that makes little sense and doesn't add up.

Not a good one and the culture he brings is dogshit.
Hardest pass that you could give from me.

So big Stefano has a clause in his contract that makes him free agent in 2025 if the Tigers don't make the 8 in 2023 and 2024. Well that's one foot out the door for him already and I can assure you come November 1 next year the Roosters and other Tier 1 clubs will be lining up to sign Steph for 2025 as I don't see us making the 8 in 2024 either..Just goes to show our better players don't have much faith in this club and are not prepared to wait around for the slow burn to success..

Maybe the reason why Stefano wasn't too upset at him being dropped for game 3 was the fact his stay till end of 2025 clause wasn't invoked.

Ridiculous contract. The club is clueless for offering this deal.

Agree to disagree. Maybe you’d prefer Matt Moylan?

I also think the Warriors are worth keeping an eye on.
Long term, Volkman and Te Marie Martin are signed to 25 with Channel Harris Tavita rejoining them on a 2 year deal next year.
Short term Metcalf is signed to to 24 and can sign with a rival this November.
Even shorter term Johnson is off contract this year with no sign of retiring and wanting to leave NZ.

Something’s gotta give.

Why would I prefer Moylan because I despise that poser Luai?

So is it 100% dead in the water or could there be a way around it? Seems a bit weird from the sharks keeping someone who wants away for an opportunity considering they have some gun young halves they've bought in also.
I say we turn our attention to any of the Warriors depth halves now, but there are many forum members who watch players in the lower grades (and ESL) so they would have a better idea about available talent.

100%

He is the personification of ego overriding ability & application!

Style over substance!

Plus he is an abject moron try-hard!!

* On that note - why all of a sudden have "Romey" "Bizza" and "Critta" decided to wear HEADGEAR as if it was a fashion statement!

If you need to wear a helmet to protect a cut/split that is fine!

But otherwise when you have always played without it.....

To'o only played well for NSW tonight when he finally ditched it after Tabuai-Fidow made him look stupid again!

The report says it gets revoked if he plays Origin twice by end of 2024, so he has next year's series as well and only needs to get picked once, if so.

You mean like the Roosters do
And that is a benchmark model??? How?

It is literally because there is no viable club without Nick's money - and he has not combined being both the major club sponsor as well as Chairman since City Ford in the 70s-80s!

The only similarity between Nick and Lee is their Greek heritage - but Nick's wealth and business acumen is in an entirely different stratosphere to the bargain basement reject we ended up with!

You just had to hear Lee gush like a fanboy on radio about how both Nick Politis and Pappas allegedly called him to congratulate him on the Tigers first win this season to see their relative statuses!

As for Trippadeal in Melbourne.... that is a disaster waiting to happen!
