Be interesting to watch the Fainu brothers in the NSW u19 game tonight, could push up their price if they carve up. Hopefully the Tigers have already sewn them up, can't see why they would be keen on the Dolphins, who already have strong halves in Katoa and Sullivan and are based away from family.

So big Stefano has a clause in his contract that makes him free agent in 2025 if the Tigers don't make the 8 in 2023 and 2024. Well that's one foot out the door for him already and I can assure you come November 1 next year the Roosters and other Tier 1 clubs will be lining up to sign Steph for 2025 as I don't see us making the 8 in 2024 either..Just goes to show our better players don't have much faith in this club and are not prepared to wait around for the slow burn to success..

Maybe the reason why Stefano wasn't too upset at him being dropped for game 3 was the fact his stay till end of 2025 clause wasn't invoked.

He seems level headed and loyal and had also stated how he would love to be a future club captain and lead them out of these troubled times

I'm thinking the clause is something that was pushed for more by his manager to give them a bit of leverage if they if feel her needed it

As an example we have always struggled to recruit and with all our salary cap space and no notable recruits looking likely and around 95% of cap having to be spent each year his manager would be thinking who better for excess funds to go to than one of our best youngsters who has now players origin rather than randoms in our top 30 who really don't deserve it

A problem we could have though if big stef wanted out is that it could be easily sorted with a chat to Freddy and politis which would see stef not picked for origin regardless of form allowing the clause to come into play and rorters a free pass to stef

He also signed the contract at the beginning of 2022...when Madge was coach. The article fails to mention that. Despite many many negative media reports, nearly anytime you hear the players speak, they say they enjoy playing under Sheens/Benji.

Have to agree , Klemmer has been 5 times better than Steph , will need to wind him up early next year to keep him

Forwards good, backline serviceable, halves crap. Maybe we need to recruit a coach / assistant coach that can guarantee they bring a serviceable halves pairing with them for 24?

This is such a stupid contract condition but he isn't performing well enough at this point so it's nowhere near as bad as it should be.

Plenty of times I’ve been waiting for him to come out of the line and jam someone.
Not sure if it’s age,but I’m with ya.He definitely lacks that aggression.
