Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Its looking like we might land the 18 and 19 year old Fainu brothers thanks to Benji not Fulton
But are these youngsters able to play at NRL level yet ?

Latu is very impressive but still not sold on Samuela. Chris Faagutu looks a better prospect imo... I reckon we'll see a debut from him next year.

Yes bro I agree with your assessment..Sam
Will get bullied against men, he'll fill out. Latu is so special I'm so pleased brodie

True and judging by most of our past decisions we regret it the moment they have gone (Joffa is the perfect example)
Peachey
Kelma Tuilagi
Gildart
Tom Amone
Maumolo
Madden
Zac Cini
Tamou
Reece Hoffman
Sam Mac
Musgrove
Liddle
Mikaele
Joey Leilua
Bob Jennings
Garner
Josh Reynolds
Chris McQueen
Tyson Gamble
Esan Marsters
etc.

Let's not over-exaggerate that we "regret most releases", because all clubs are churning through loads of players every year and most of the time they get it right.

What is regretful is actually how ordinary is that most on my list are not Tigers juniors, so they were actively recruited externally and are pretty ordinary overall.

Next signings need to be Holbrook and then Tino.

We have the cap space. I would use it for Tino. People would take us seriously then.
I wonder if we are making a play for Tino and that's why Api came out a couple of weeks ago and said there's no hard feelings, that it was his own fault he got injured.

I thought it was a bit out of the blue

So now the Benji/Fulton dream team can work on securing 4-5 experienced recruits that bring the right character, leadership & effort that we need through this transitionary period.

Halfback - Aidan Sezer
5/8 - Brodie Croft (with the thinking to shift to halfback after Sezer)
Centre - Brad Parker
Utility - Connor Watson (hooker, lock & 5/8)

Not flashy but all provide effort & experience.

Croft, T'oa, Staines, Bula for the speed. And look to recruit/retain some fast, x-factor outside backs in the NSW Cup - Jimmy Ngutlik, Jordan Hill & someone Fulton can find from western Sydney.

Not getting excited until announced as we all know what happens.

If true I like the brother as he looks to have aggression and size.
The only thing that could potentially ruin it would be if say a couple of geeks presented a petition at the most inopportune time and put the kybosh on the deal.

We can go on about how Simpkin won't reach the peak or how embarrassing it is for a parent to berate the club on social media but I think a lot of the frustration is more around how WT are maybe releasing these guys. With the poor culture ingrained in the club and sub-standard management, I wouldn't be surprised if there is very little care in kicking a player to the kerb once they no longer fit into plans...
I don't think Simpkin is the answer. You can see what a great hooker has brought to the team in Api. But I do feel Madge put a lot of pressure on him to perform immediately (thinking of that Rabbits game where he played 80 in one of his first games against a huge pack), and then went cold on him. We were desperate for a star, but Robbie Farah's don't come around very often.
