OFFICIAL Fainu Brothers.

Love your positive attitude mate , let’s get the boys here first before bagging them
I hope they go well, but look at how we are going. A couple of kids are not going to turn things around in the next couple of years.

We will see what they are delivering in the next year or two, but I have supported the club long enough to have been through a number of the gun youngster signings.

Do you remember when development contracts started? We had all the boom youngsters. McIntyre, Madden, Hoffman, Simpkin, Simpkins, Gibbs. The core of a team for the next decade, all junior rep stars

A lot of kids just don’t kick on. Matamua was talked up last year, another junior rep star but as not seen first grade this year despite injuries and poor performance. He can’t unseat Seyfarth (who was also a junior rep star).

We are last, likely to win the spoon and need more than a couple of kids and a super league reject at the end of his career to turn things around

That the spirit😅

WT and us fans need this pair to fulfil their projected potential, just as we need most of our other prospects to do similarly to improve our lot.

Facts are that they are unproven and few actually realise expectations, but at least someone has been signed.

Seriously, what is fox sports' problem with the Tigers? It's now so far beyond my thinking "it's just because I'm a Tigers fan I think they're harsher on them...".

I mean they get sht for not being able to attract anyone. They get sht about internal tensions re recruitment. They get sht about everything.

Now it's the reportedly $4M combined, 4 years for both boys they're getting it for.

It's ridiculous.

The cap is currently at $13M isn't it? Each will be on 1/26th of the cap next year if it stays the same. They are 2 players, not one ffs!

Who knows what it'll be in 2027?

Each one could become great. If they do, as it stands, the Tigers will have 2 pivotal players who'd had a $500k average for the 4 seasons (I'm sure the contracts would be back ended).

If the 5/8th does become a good nrl 5/8th, does anyone think any other good 5/8th in the comp is going to be on $500k?!

And $500k for a good second rower... again, it could turn out an absolute stroke of genius by the Tigers.

They could both turn out to be total duds: I DON'T CARE!!

I would much rather they spent $1M per season on these two than the $1M Brooks has been using up. I applaud the club on finally breaking free of Brooks and investing that same amount in the Fainus.

But that's not the narrative. No, it's not the swapping of two promising young players (who play in two very important positions) for the same amount they've had a life return on from Brooks: It's "Tigers slammed for desperate ploy...".

If it were the Roosters the headline would be along the lines of "Roosters swoop in to nab promising brothers...".

It's so tiresome and eye-rolling. They just don't let up.

100% this. I'll cop the criticism of the way the club's run because a lot of the time it's not that far off the mark, but I'm pig sick of the Tigers getting crapped on reflexively, for anything, even when something goes right. There's absolutely no way any of these arseholes can predict what's going to happen with top prospects, yet they'll happily roll out the "depseration move/masterstroke" narrative based on pure prejudice.

Look at Suaali'i: he's been ok for the Roosters but hardly pulled up a lot of trees, yet he's been paid a motza and is going to leave before he gets anywhere near his supposed potential. Where are the articles pointing out what a terrible idea it was for the Roosters to invest so much in a literal child?

As I said in an earlier post, the same parade of clowns are happy to line up to point out that no player with half-decent options is ever going to sign for a farce like the Tigers, yet when they try something different that's a bad move too. I really, really try not to be paranoid but at least some of them *must* have some sort of agenda. Or maybe it's just a boys' club of lazy old hacks leeching off the game they pretend to love.

For comparison sakes here’s Fox Sports when they signed with Manly. Not a word of criticism.

Pretty big hype on these two and not just from our club … weird that we actually beat other clubs to a signing for once lol
Not that weird when you consider the only other clubs that are desperate for a half are canberra where no one wants to live and the rooster who at this point seem like a death sentence for young halves

Everyone else already has a decent pair or a young half coming though the grades, some clubs have both

Benji must see a little of himself in these 2 boys so a good sign.

Not exactly on topic but reckon the Roosters have a bigger rebuild needed than us now..

Gone in all key positions.

Wondering if they'll win another game this year.

Just look at Anasta’s head on NRL360 when someone else is talking - looks like one of those wobble-head dogs that everyone had in their car years ago.
What an unappreciative pig - we signed him at the end of his career on good coin when he had nothing left and he showed exactly that (when he wasn’t injured that is). Now he can’t stop slagging us at every opportunity.
The catalyst was when Anasta used the Tigers as a ‘Cha Ching Cha Ching’ to get Munster a major extension at the Storm .. played us off a break then lambasted us when the deal was done with Storm.
What a piece of work!

360 clowns: "No established player will ever sign for the Tigers, they're a joke."
Tigers: sign two up and coming stars.
360 clowns: "Ooh that's a bit of a risk, why don't they spend the money on established players?"
Well can we all agree to stop quoting NRL 360 from now on?

Pretty easy solution. This thread is 75% "good news, well done Tigers, nice to get a positive step for once" and 25% "can you believe those guys on NRL 360, they spin it to still kick us in the teeth".

So let's make it 95% feel-good by simply not referring back to NRL 360. In fact make it a life-long pact. Clearly they have nothing ever good to say about the club or fans and they will talk the club down as often as they can, to get a rise from the viewers.

I really don't ever want to hear the opinion of James Hooper, who has the IQ of a hot dog, or Braith Anasta who harbours deep conflictions about Wests Tigers, or Buzz Rothfield who is a pickled beetroot, or whoever the other guy is that makes up the 4th pillar of idiocy.

You're wrong about that last bit. A couple of quality kids can transform a side, if they all come on at once. It's already happened in our own club history.

Matamua is being developed slowly - he was debuted by Noddy for a taste of firsts, but Sheens is taking a different approach. We've already seen Sheens bring Blore back slowly, including spells in reserves, and it really does seem to be paying dividends for the player, even if the team is struggling. Also, Tigers depth in forwards is superior to backs.

Good signings. I trust the people in the know can recognise talent.

Couple of questions I want to know:

Did we sign Samuella because we needed another middle forward or because he is a package deal with Latu - in effect paying 800K for Latu?

Did Benji Want this or was he forced?
