Aidan Sezer #279

I am starting to think that the idea of a spine could be extended to a having a ball playing lock.

Isiah Yeo is the prototype for this. He often take the first pass from the ruck and affords Cleary more time and space. I can see with Sezer that he isn’t a Hastings, DCE type who have a high amount of touches per set of six.

If we can attract or develop someone like a Yeo, who plays either side of the ruck and allows the halves more time, this could potentially work. At present only Seyfarth is our only option (and still would require significant development) as Pole and Blore etc play the role of an additional prop who are more metre eating than a true link man.
I thought that Matamua would be that guy but he can't even get a starting spot in reserves.

Wests Tigers have reportedly offered Sezer a 1 year deal. It indicates that the contract could see him secure a potential 12-month option on top of the deal. (DT)

More to come.

Paul Vaughan would be a good addition but only after we secure at least 1 good centre , Secure Sezer , Sullivan and a centre then we can look for more Middle men .
klemmer , Steph , Blore , Pole , Ipap , Appi is solid we need one more of this quality , Vaughan would do it

Paul Vaughan - Evidently He isn't the right kind of guy when yr trying to reform the culture of a club around discipline and hard work.

Both Dragons and Dogs (Bottom clubs) were ok to let him go....

No Thanks

This push for culture is a load of crap , we need players to get down and dirty , I guess u haven’t watch Vaughan play in the pommie league, his workrate is fantastic his hit ups are bending the line , has a good off load , and he doesn’t miss very many tackles , this is what our club needs

Vaughan and bevan French and a gun half back and we are cooking again

Finally.

At first I wasn't keen, but after I watched a few of his recent games I think he can do a good job. Good kicking and passing game. I think if they play him at 6 or 7 with a simple job of organising and kicking, he'll be quite valuable to us.

People ignore the basics/simple things at times.
His kicking game is an uplift especially his bombs they often land between the goal line /10mtr zone. He plays in the middle as well to the edge of his dummy half.

We should see the ball hit the flanks faster and it will give Sullivan, Fainu and Bula more space to run/use the ball.

Not saying he is a world beater and will setup 12 tries a game but I do think this is a smart pickup that will complement Api in the spine.

Lets hope we get him on deck from the start of Jan

We saw what Hastings could do for us... and the Knights.

Could've really used him this year.
I think Sezar will be better for us - he's a smart player and Hastings seems to be too heavy / slow / etc.

Onward and upwards.
