Lol you are a loser. I knew you’d have a sook. Ali went for 70 odd runs. If he bowled in the first innings as I wanted him to, we may have won.
Woakes and Broad won that game.
You are too old to be this petty. Why do you do it?
You just reply to my one liner with a paragraph of unintelligent sookyness.
Well done Champ, enjoy your day, I know I will. 🤡

Achieved what they went to do-retain the Ashes. Losing Nathan Lyon in the second game was a real killer and in my opinion anyway, made the remaining games a lot closer. A lot of our guys will likely not be there next Ashes series here in Oz due to age or burnout. Be interesting to see what out team looks like when the next Ashes series rolls round.
The lose of Lyon cannot be underestimated, just the way the Cummins had no idea how to captain his new off spinner was alarming and cost us dearly.

Just reading about Poms refusing to have a traditional after series drink. I think it says a lot about them. Bazball may be innovative but arrogance is not.
Every game of senior cricket I ever played always ended with the two teams sharing a beer. Admittedly wasn’t a Test match but I believe that is the usual procedure.
It’s hard to know with the clickbait media these days but certainly looks like poor form.

“We wanted to have a beer with them but they had left already”. Gas lighting narcissism…

Let them wallow in their self pity and delusion.
We had two missions. Bring home the World Test Championship trophy and regain The Ashes.
It may not have been pretty at times and we rode our luck a bit however we played some good cricket as well and deserved our success.
Mission accomplished on both fronts.
Whilst they embark on a tour of self congratulatory tv appearances where they’ll try to convince idiots that they actually won, we’ll return home, rest up and prepare for our next series like winners do.

There’s no excuses for not winning a series after leading 2-0. That and Cummins credentials as captain have taken a serious beating. It’s a good thing that they retained the Ashes, but they are in no position to chest beat.

Both teams should be completely different.
Stokes, Root, Bairstow will be mid thirties. Their bowlers will all be even older.
On our side, as you said…a lot different.
What makes me laugh is that most of the blokes who ensured Australia held the Ashes for the past 4 series, may not be around for the next one, which means England cannot get proper revenge.
Maybe that’s what is burning a hole through their guts?

You speak as if this English squad are hopeless.
We hold the Ashes for the next 2 & 1/2 years…as we have done since 2017.
Chest beating is fine under those circumstances. That said I haven’t seen any of our blokes do as such, even though their score in these past 4 series is a resounding 12 wins to 4 to us.

Anyone else glad this whinge fest is finally over.....drove me to drink 😵‍💫

but seriously, worst series, worse crowds, worse reporting... just 💩 all round

But for a 72 run 8th wicket stand between Lyon and Cummins in the first test we'd have lost that match and bad weather certainly robbed the Poms of a win in the fourth test so overall we were pretty fortunate to get a 2-2 outcome. Our batting was patchy at best and our bowling, without Lyon, was a bit one dimensional and not as effective as it normally is. The Poms went well as they usually do playing at home.

England are so lucky it rained.
Great batting by the openers.
Marnus accosted by a drunken arsehole in the crowd.
These Poms have been a disgrace in the way they have addressed our players. They should be ashamed as a whole.

Being a Surrey member I can say with a great degree of certainty that some of our members are idiots who tbh can't hold their grog. Whether I am an idiot or not is a matter of opinion but whether I can hold my sauce isn't . It's fact . Apologies to Marnus particularly when we have Dom Sibley at The Oval. If you know ...

Bit of an overreaction. All that happened was one old fart called out “boring”, (obviously referring to his first innings) to him as he was going up the race. I was expecting some kind of racial slur given the hubub. Storm in a teacup.

I don’t fully agree.
In the first Test England forfeited their excellent batting in the first innings by declaring too early. We all but ran their score down. In the second innings, we bowled a lot better and removed them for under 280. This left a reasonably comfortable score to chase which we managed with 2 wickets in hand. That wasn’t a lucky win, we hung in there and took our chances and won fair and square.

In the 4th Test, yes we got dominated in the first innings.
However…everybody and I mean EVERYBODY knew days 4 and 5 were in jeapody of being washed out. To win that game, England had to risk batting first and set a total big enough to collect 20 wickets from an Australian follow on. A lot of people are blaming the weather, but in my mind, Australia played for a draw in that game and that’s what they received. There were 269 overs bowled and Australia used 162 of them. Not only did they not bat first, when they did, they went far too long. Australia was clearly batting for the rain. Why set them such a huge total to chase? When Stokes got out, they were 120 odd in front. They wasted a further 25 overs trying to smash us. Those 25 overs could have been enough to get us out and then have a crack at chasing the difference. Instead, they hoped the forecast was wrong. It wasn’t. Bad strategy from the English and some stoic batting from us caused that draw.
