I think we need better halves than we’ve recently signed. Wouldn’t be surprised if we had a red hot crack at Ezra Mam in November. Deacon’s phone will be running hot so we’ll need $800k plus I reckon?

If Haas has knocked back that deal it will take 1.3 or 1.4 million a season to get him. Is a prop really worth that? A good forward pack doesn’t guarantee wins

He is under Eels top 30 so we have 1 more spot to fill for him leaving
That’s how it works. If a player leaves mid season they do not need to be replaced. They count towards your top 30.

We might be losing basically every game but we technically filled a 30 man roster and we got Joffa for half price!

Might be right Teddy just can't see it. Still think it will be the Broncs, Roosters or Storm if they can clean their cap up enough to fit him in. Can't see him joining a team trying to claw its way up the ladder. He's a beast though he'd be an awesome signing. Not too sure about his eunterage though.

It will be the highest bidder out of the successful clubs. Broncos, Roosters, or Melbourne.
Bulldogs, Dragons, and us can offer him 1.5M and he'll laugh at us.

Yep, we are obviously very aggressive with recruitment, but share the same inconsistency or lack of direction that is shown on the field. In March we told Sione Fainu he's free to leave. By July we have signed his 2 brothers who want to come and play in the same team.

For $1.4 million a year you can get two top line, starting front rowers and tell them to obliterate him together.
A desperate team might pay that, but even the biggest, strongest, baddest props can be handled.
Can't say the same for playmakers on similar money...

He’s said outright he wants to win a premiership so unless he thinks he’s gonna turn this club around (I don’t because he’s a mercenary) then it won’t be tigers.

I'd ask the question is that full amount coming from a club's cap or do the more creative types have the means to make adjustments. Are we operating on a level playing field!
If allegedly he has rejected a huge offer, then you would believe he has a bigger offer.

Interesting story about Haas - before he signed with Brisbane he was pretty much a done deal to go to Melbourne as there was a verbal agreement. Bennett was made aware of Haas's pending switch to Melbourne and gave him a call (coaching Brisbane at the time) and convinced him to sign with Brisbane instead. Melbourne have been and still are filthy over this - wouldn't be surprised if they go extra hard at Haas to pry him away.
