OFFICIAL Sheens gone

Lets be real. Who in their right mind thinks Benji will turn this ship around. I wouldn't be against them sacking him because appointing him in the first place has to be the most incompetent and disrespectful (to the status of the role) decision I've seen. It's so comical its not even funny. The fact NO one could see that a coach like Flanagan would have been perfect for this club is ridiculous, and I largely blame that on Sheens, he seemed mainly in charge of that coaching selection process that occurred, probably saw Flanagan as a threat to his own position in the club and hence jumped on board the 'we need a young coach' train. Like seriously? What on [This word has been automatically removed]in earth about the Wests Tigers in the last 12 years suggests we need a 'young coach'?
You sir are 100% on the money with everything you've said.

Tigers would have to be favourite for the spoon next year. Hel be gone in 12 months.

Nothing ive seen from him or sheens has shown me any confisence

I think he sees 2025 regardless of their position next year… unless he himself pulls the pin

1. Get sacked by the club
2. Sue the club for sacking you
3. Come back to the club
4. Advise the club to sack the coach
5. Recommend hiring yourself as the coach
6. Get sacked by the club.

Did I miss anything?
The whole thing is so unprofessional.
This is the sort of backyard shit that happens in park footy out in the sticks.

As the late great Jack Gibson used to say, you can't win anything without a good front office. Our administration is simply dysfunctional, apparently clueless and has been for years. No point signing quality players and leaving the present club administration in place and there's not a lot that can be done to change anything administratively without the owners Wests Ashfield backing it.
Jack failed at Souths and Cronulla.

As for the front office they can just bring in the dollars to sign players and coaches.

If the club signs players it's up to them to do their job.

The long term plans don't work because they were never long term plans from the outset. They were thought bubbles created under the heat of responding to yet another stuff up. The fact that they came up with the Sheens / Benji plan only a week or so being knocked back by Ciraldo indicates that this wasn't a long term plan that was comprehensively thought through, debated, alternatives assessed, etc. like most long term plans are. What they came up with is the equivalent of writing it up on the back of a coaster over a beer, looking at it, and saying, "hey, that could work, let's give this a go". No wonder it all unravels so quickly. A successful club needs a good CEO, a good Head of Footy and a good Head Coach. It is the governance spine that determines how successful a club is in recruiting, developing and holding players at fair market value and having them perform at close to their best most weeks. Can we honestly say Wests Tigers have any of these at the moment? No disrepect to Benji, I hope he makes a great head coach, but he is not even out of coaching daipers yet.
Good post, surprised they would have been sober when they came up with the Benji/Sheen’s experiment. I remember when they announced their intent, most of my mates that normally give me shit at any opportunity in relation to the Tigers, just felt sorry for me, only the Tigers could come up with this shit. Can you imagine the Roosters coming up with a plan to bring back Gould to mentor Jake Friend to take over in two years, signing someone who’s never coached to a 5 year coaching contract?

This club is an absolute shambles. Now media are reporting that Sheens actually quit because he was being shut out and it has actually been Benji running the show for months. We have a board making decisions without any input from coaching staff and not considering the impact such decisions have on the team. I have hated the whole getting the band back together theme they ran with, yeah the last time you had all the old gang together it was such a success….
I know Benji was a great player in his day but that was long ago & the game has changed, being a good player doesn’t mean being a good coach.
I am sorry but I think Benji is all about Benji, his ego has created problems in the past and I think it has actually grown. Benji seems to be all about social media & gettng his influencer freebies that he shows off on instagram, including his holiday during the season while the team were getting smashed. I hope he can do wonderful things with the team but I have serious doubts. According to media reports today Benji is also looking at being booted, so who is the next coach, perhaps the guy who ran the water the last time we actually won the grand final.
I am just plain exhausted by this club & the way it is run. It hurts to see 2 proud foundation clubs turned into a circus. The only consistency is that just when we think we have hit rock bottom, they drop the bottom level even lower.
Ugh sorry just so fed up.

I'm no fan of the current board and I think new blood is needed, but he gets a lot of undue criticism for the on-field stuff.

Tim Sheens is responsible and he was removed. Benji is responsible, and if he fails (more likely than not) he will hopefully also be removed.

They also don't get credit for a lot of things (The CoE, Sullivan, Fainu, Api extension, off field stuff).

He's on a hiding to nothing really.

just irks me,
Totally agreed (bar CoE, that was so many years in the making, yet construction can be difficult)...

Pascoe does not control the on-field stuff. I actually trust the boards judgement on Pascoe's performance as they will get the business side better then the NRL side.

Overall, I am glad to see the board act. Sheens has come 17th with a side that IMHO could come 8th.

Should have chucked Madge out in 21, didn't. Turfed him in 22 with no plan after humiliating him and everyone else at the club with a tv show. Nearly break Noddy and collect a spoon so Sheens can ride in as saviour this year. Appoint a coach with no experience to start in 3 years time. Ditch Sheens when he is a failure (as predicted) bring forward the Ill advised appointment of the coach with zero experience.... Gee it's going to be really hard to predict the outcome of this. Oh wait, no it's not.....rookie coach gone within 2 seasons.

Meanwhile we will be told by the few remaining members of Pascoe's tea and scones crew that everything is under control.
I know I'm not the only one that saw the coaching setup with Sheens and Marshall as a disaster in progress from the day it was announced. So I shouldn't be surprised we are now at this point. What I find dismaying is that the decision makers within the club somehow thought this whole charade was a good idea. Wests Tigers DNA, yeh right.

trully shows how spinless LH JP n board are,get Sheens in 2 shaft Madge after stalling on terminating him for a year n a 1/2. Scream to the heavens the club needs to show stability in its ranks, hand it onto Sheens/Benjie show.Basically shaft them both by sneeking Fulton in 6mths later.Fulton is a ticking time bomb in more ways than 1
This seems to be a popular opinion but not one i understand. If Sheens/Benji were professionals, they would continue to do their role in coaching the team regardless of the Fulton appointment. In fact, they should be perhaps not embracing the appointment but at least curious as to whom Fulton may be able to get to strengthen the roster they are coaching. If Fulton is/was a timebomb then, to me, it shows a shortcoming of Sheens/Benji.
I do not say this in defence of LH or JP, they are the fools who appointed Sheens/Benji in the first place.

Quote from Hapenstupidus-
“These discussions emanated from a conversation with Tim’s management only very recently. The discussions continue and nothing has been resolved as yet.”

If nothing has been resolved , why are you publicly talking fool?
Ah, but there is more:

Lee Hagipantelis:

“It is indeed regrettable that I find myself having to speak of these matters publicly,” he told this masthead.

Since when has this wanker ever been able to shut his mouth.

No players want to come to the club already ( unless they are almost retired & don’t care for cold old England), I don’t blame players for avoiding the club, the way things are run the club is seen as a risk to careers. I expect to see some current players try to bail out.
