Wests Tigers Coaches

Club would probably give them a 3 day deadline when it's a four day walk to a phone.
I think Tedesco, Woods and Moses all got deadlines too? I cant help but wonder what Brooks' first offer was? I mean, if it started with a 4, then maybe someone on the board wanted him? oth, if it was say 530 then upping it by such a small amount nays have it by a huge margin?

2 years at $550k increased to $600k is what I read in the media at the time

I know I go on about Andrew Webster as a coach but this interview just reaffirms how a new coach goes about joining a new club and sets out his expectations around the style of play he wants to enforce and the players he recruits to get him there. Warriors was never a rebuild in his eyes but just changing a mindset and getting the hole club to buy into the vision. This interview was done in Pre-season i think maybe just after they beat us over there but gives great insight into a coaching mind.
I would much rather Sheens sits back behind the scenes and let Benji drive his vision. Let him select his coaches and who he wants to his trusted advisors. Once again, hiring Holbrook is undermining Benji as a coach and his vision. He has been hired for the next 4 1/2 years then let the vision evolve and play out.
Lee and Pascoe need to remove themselves from the front, get behind Benji and let him be the face of the club moving forward.

As far as new assistant coaches go- what about Jim Dymock? Been a big part of clubs like the Bulldogs & Sharks in the past before the Titans gig fell apart

I think the devil will be in the detail with this. It sounds straightforward enough but could have some interesting consequences that we fans are unfortunately, are all to familiar with.

Firstly, is it wise to give into their demands as it demonstrates their power? I think that could be a slipper slope.

Secondly, I wonder if any of the nominated coaches are managed by the same player managers who have suggested that Benji needs help post Sheens. (I am not saying he doesn’t but there should be a process that is clear and not tainted as per Fulton fiasco).

Are they just an assitant coach like a typical arrack or defence coach or are they another me mentor? This changes the field significantly if it is the latter as I am not sure either Johnny Morris or Holbrook have the experience at NRL level.

This isn’t the plan Benji signed up for. Two years assistant then theee year deal as head coach. We are going to launch into another dysfunction if Benji feels like he needs to look over his back shoulder

We shoul tread with both caution and clarity with this. Ensuring they understand what the are doing, everyone is in the same page and not (another) knee jerk reaction.

One thing I noted with the u19s game that there is a bulldogs influence in the coaching. This i think is a big plus for the dogs if they look at recruiting any of them

If the reports are true that Benji fronted the board and asked to present his ‘vision’ for the club.

Amazing, less than 12 months into a 5 year plan the board is asking this ??

Wasn’t it the CEO/Board that pursued Tim/Benji after the failed Ciraldo fiasco.

These guys have no plan beyond tomorrow and what’s in the press.

I would vote John Morris. He did ok with the Sharks, thought he would be getting that job. He knows Benji, they played together under Seens, sheens could stay in the dept. Bring the band back together. Benji needs to be able to trust the coaching staff, that's another pro for John

And so it begins 12 months into a 5 year plan
IDIOTS running the show
Well I think Sheens will see out his 2 years (excuse - it’s a rebuild with juniors🙄) before handing on the poison chalice to Benji who will be sacked after 2 years ( reason - nothing has improved) . 2027 we will be looking for another new coach to start all over again and Lee and Pascoe will put a spin on it again.
I think I’ve reached complete disillusionment 😞
I might need to revise the timeline given current events 🤦‍♂️

Well there was a lot of speculation about the timelines and personnel. What’s happened is a surprise, but not a major surprise, as it’s been speculated on before.
Recently Tim looked spent and at his age I’m not surprised. It will be interesting to find out the terms of his separation, especially as his wife works for the club as well.
No GM job for him so imagine he is going to get a payout and drift into Tigers folklore.
Did many good things for the club but this was a bridge too far, for everyone.
Over to Benji now, and possibly John Morris I see. Let’s hope somewhere down the line things start to finally gel.
