Trying to think rationally after last night's disaster. We were starting to show some progress after a month of good footy and generally staying in the contest in most games. Then the CEO and chairman bring in Fulton without telling the coaches. Another rift appears and surprise, surprise we get a result like last night. Pascoe and Hagibullshit have to go.
I’m having dark thoughts about the future. Sheens is meant to be stabilising the team and building a stronger roster delivering better performances ready for coaching rookie Benji to take over. What on earth will that look like by the end of 2024?

While Tim Sheens will retain his title, the club has mapped out a plan for Marshall to assume the responsibilities of the head coach when the team returns for pre-season training in November.

So not too long ago they thought Benji needed two years to be ready for coaching solo....now, with the club in its worst position ever follwing a record loss, with several hundred NRL games of experience missing next year, no halves whatsoever...etc etc ...yes so very WTs

Yet another case not thinking through the problem and making a knee jerk reaction to solve it.We have muppets running the club a complete group of idiots
Well I think Sheens will see out his 2 years (excuse - it’s a rebuild with juniors🙄) before handing on the poison chalice to Benji who will be sacked after 2 years ( reason - nothing has improved) . 2027 we will be looking for another new coach to start all over again and Lee and Pascoe will put a spin on it again.
I think I’ve reached complete disillusionment 😞
This is how you build culture and identify. A coach who has a clear idea on what he wants and the type of players that will carry out his plan. You have to admire a coach who has done a hard graft as an apprentice but has a clear plan on how he wants to coach.
Benji could do no worse than learn and keep an eye on Webster and the Warriors progression.
His coaching staff, apart from Stacey, are his ex head coaches back in UK - Justin Morgan and Richard Agar....the apprentice becomes the master.

All is not how it appears to be. Sheens is wearing 2 hats, Benji’s job title is ‘assistant coach’ but appears to have the responsibilities, and most tasks of a ‘head coach’.
If you’re a board member, this is a brilliant concept, much more flexible than the 5 year plan, it’s got the illusion of its twin at birth, the wine stained shirt, while providing a variety of scapegoat options.

We had 2x maybe 3x winnable games in March. We sucked.
The team needs to own it's performance and Sheens needs to own the results of his coaching.
Sure, if Sheens was mid ladder. I would agree. We were last and shockingly under-prepared coming into the season. Who watching us last year did not think "defense", so Sheens does 200,000 passes.
The worst position we could be in would be having every club official loyal to Sheens and were 17th. On this the board is 100% right.
Sheens isn't a good coach. Sheens isn't a bad coach.
Sheens is the Crazy, out there Coach. The bloke who does weird stuff and comes up with Diabolical plays*. No Sheens side has good basics, Sometimes a Sheens side works, sometimes not.
Sheens needs level heads around him. As much as there is a nasty side to him, Shane Flanagan would have really helped here. I blame the WT board for selecting Gardiner over Flanagan, we would have been a better side 2022. John Morris clearly has been massive for Souths.
Benji, Heighington and Farah are club legends and absolute champions. We are WAY to inbred in the club coaching staff.

I dont think Sheens is coaching this side. Not to say he doesnt have any input.
It hasnt looked like a Sheens coached side since the first couple of games.
Looks to me the players are not buying into the Benji coaching idea?
They certainly got up for the Panthers clash, and again for Brooksy's 200th.
What was so different about those games? What correlations can be drawn?
