Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I posted here a while ago that Suli was offered to us and is being shopped around by Flanagan - we said no and they're struggling to find suitors for him. (Tartak client I've come to realise)

I've heard first hand from a player within the top 30 when Suli was at the club that he was a locker room cancer and didn't take training seriously. He also wasn't a great team mate and without putting too much on the kid was not very liked by anyone in the squad. The club and players celebrated when Dogs took him from us..... which he was then moved on from within 6 months later to join Manly.... which he was then moved on later to the Dragons where he then publicly stated he never wanted to move to the club...... now Dragons are trying to get out of the deal with no real takers.... I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't wan't him back and think he'll end up in SL within the next 12 months.

Olam however, now you have my attention.
Was only at the Dogs for closer to 6 days than 6 months.

Story was that he used to get a lift to training when he was with us and then stayed in the car park and slept during training. Not sure if completely true but very damning.

He actually had a patch of good form at Manly for a short time where he was busting tackles and making it look easy, but that didn't last too long.

Yeah it was always the concern with Suli plus his on-field demeanour never screams out positivity or motivation.

Olam was 12 months ago rated in the top few centres in the game, Talakai wasn't far behind (and has a strong John Morris connection) & Tass is very consistent, still on the up (and if Wighton & Graham are the centres, he may seek other 1st 13 opportunities).

One to watch for sure. I think he'll nail down a 6 or 1 role in due course
I would hope both Galvin & Mason are fully committed to a future at WTs.

18yo Galvin would unlikely make a top 30 squad at any other club, development yes.

Mason has the opportunity next season become our #2 fullback behind Bula at only 19 too. Yes Staines could be cover for Bula if re-signed but I can see Mason continuing his sharp progress.

I think Benji/Fulton will be scouring for an experienced centre who can bust a tackle, good 1-on-1 defensively & overall defensively.

Looking at the stats on the Fox Sports Lab, nothing changes my mind that we will aggressively pursue Olam, Talakai or Tass & wouldn't surprise me if Suli is added to the hit list.

If T'oa is seen as our 1st choice right centre, Olam, Talakai, Tass & Suli all favour the left edge.
All the guys you listed are better than Toa.

Olam will be 30 starting next season while Talakai will be 26. Talakai would be my preference has had an outstanding season for Sharks - only 5 tries but 17 try assists, 8 line breaks and averaging 166meters. Can be beaten in defence given his size but you get more in attack then you lose in defence and his career took off under Morris. Sharks also have a lot of backs so makes some sense

Joey Leilua #2 if he came here.
Hard pass

Send Suli to Super League not the type of player or person we need in our club.
To Moses Suli's credit when he was at the club .. he was young and had no idea what potential he had .. he didnt take to training to well .. he was a loner, had some family issues go on .. and often slept in his beaten up old little car outside the ground just to make it to training. But to look at him now with the Dragons .. he looks fit, so obviously putting in at training and the gym .. and he is enjoying his footy again ..

What is our hooker depth looking like if Simpkin leaves after this season? Api historically has one injury a year but is otherwise durable. Ngatikaura doesn't look to be FG standard. Da Silva is still a kid and we will be putting a lot of pressure on him if Simpkin goes.

I see the appeal with Olam but he hasn't been in the best form this season & Bellamy hasn't even been picking him in the 21 man squad. Remember what happened when we took a chance on a centre in a similar situation a couple years back? Claimed "he was the best centre in the comp"
Olam and BJ have extremely different attitudes and personality though. Olam is an intelligent and hard working guy. He's got a Uni degree in Applied Physics. Where BJ is one of the world's dumbest humans

Bellend .. love ya name bro ya bellend .. lol .. sorry couldnt help myself. That is a very good question .. We let him go due to poor training and personal performances .. Dogs let him go quickly as well ?? .. Bald Eagles let him go ?? .. and now the Dragqueens are shopping him around .. hmm 4 clubs in 6 years .. sounds like there are some red flags here .. ??
