Are we a well coached side?

Re coaching our defence is better this year than last year - it couldn't be worse but in
Attack ? When I see a backline running drawing and passing and the ball actually getting to our edges instead of the play breaking down midfield then I'll start to applaud some coaching
i dont think our defence is any better. I'd say about the same if not worse.

Don't forget last two rounds last year
2nd last game Roosters 72-6
last game Raiders up 42-0 at half time
Unfortunately havent forgotten them yet and those games were after the apparently no good coach was removed. Nor have i forgotten 74-0 this year.
At least those last couple games last year there were the excuses of coach sacked, new coach unwilling to take the reigns and an injury ravaged side. Comparatively the team this year has been no where near as decimated or destablised (though obviously still issues).
After 23 games this year 623 points conceded. After 23 games last year 621 points not much improvement (admittedly this eliminates the final game which was one of our worst defensively). However this comparison is worse still when you consider that the average points per game has dropped across the whole competition (or so i heard, havent fact checked).
Then consider the improved roster that they have had to coach and it is worse again.

No argument re defence my main concern is our attack and a backline that can't even get the ball to the edges .We are so Clunky Bula excepted

yep, attack/backline is terrible. I would again disagree that Bula is an exception to our clunkiness. I think he is a fine prospect but he is yet to consistently be in the right position for backline movements, demonstrate quick hands or quality pass selection. I think he will likely be part of a quality attack/backline (if we ever get the players around him also performing) but for now he is also part of the problem (which is not unexpected of a rookie).

BUt tHe BoYs LoVe BeNji!

It’s not about the wins and losses. It’s about who organizes the lunches on the way.

Easy answer "NO" and the results over the last 12 years back up his conclusion.
8 wins over the last 2 seasons is not good enough and players and coaches are not reaching their respective KPI's.

Until WT find a controlling Half Back (last real decent one WT had was Scott Prince) then results will continue the same.

Yes Coaching staff and some of their respective game plans and the use of the bench over the years leave me questioning their coaching abilities and direction the team is heading.

I will be interested to see how Marshall as sole Head Coach operates given as a player he played off the cuff style and maybe not to the coaches plan. Time will tell
And people are jumping over themselves to be coached by him !!!

Onya shifty... Well played

If that doesn't scream that the cub have been telling porkies I don't know what does.

If he exited of his own accord and on his own terms then why the need for an NDA? It now really smells like he was tapped on the shoulder and can't talk about it or the payout he received for the club not honouring the contract.

FFS why do these clowns do shit like this? If he was tapped on the shoulder - be honest about the fact and make a clear and unambiguous statement.

Please explain to me Mr Pascoe; how is this well administered club when shit like this happens year in year out on your watch?

Given the silence from the last coach that was sacked also, it seems to go with the territory at this club. Happy to throw money just as long no one challenges them about their part in the failure.

It wouldn't surprise me if the NDA was at the suggestion of the board and CEO while discussing the payout. It gives plausible deniability to both sides. Sheens gets out without embarrassment (before having to take credit for a wooden spoon) and the Board and CEO can point fingers without any accountability.

Pascoe was not responsible for the fiasco involving Sheens in 2012 but could well be partly responsible this time,it would certainly be interesting to know if any of the mental giants on the board have been around during both of the decisions.
Due care was not applied in hiring him as coach again imho just the usual knee jerk actions.I have few problems with Benji becoming our long term coach but the entire way this has been handled smacks of incompetence

It's the 'corporate" way of handling business

They only have to fool enough of the fanbase to fund their adventures.

I don't get the outrage at all.
Not so much outrage in relation to the NDA. Sure it is common place and I have no disagreement with them using it. If it is as they claim though, why have we not heard a thing, less the official statement, from Sheens since? An NDA should cover elements of the agreement like payout, not denigrating the club or Sheens etc. but that doesn't equate to complete silence and the cessation of all media and engagements. If the club was well run there would be transparency and engagement - sacked or not sacked.

Just another example of the CEO/GM and Board forgetting that the profits they make come from the fans.
