Addo-Carr is favourite with the fans .. but Josh said some nasty things about the Tigers and Club whilst he knocked our offer back and then signed with the Kennel. Im not a 100% sure that our hierarchy would even entertain the idea of having the Fox back ..

Kaeo Weeks on the other hand is a real chance of coming to the club .. a favourite of Scott Fulton so there is a connection between these two. Kaeo is a former NSW State athletic sprint champion he has a real turn of speed. He's just over 6 foot and weighs in at around 94kgs.

Alexander Lobb - winger from the Dragoons is an interesting one .. scored heaps out on the wing (best position) and in the centres for the Dragoons this year in the lower grades. Local junior of the Illawarra he's a big tall kid (6'3" around 98kgs) with plenty of confidence under the high ball .. and he has decent speed.

Does Scott Fulton have any recruitment ability anywhere other than Manly
Seems only time his name comes up is in relation to players he likes at Brooky
Would like if he had good inside connections at Storm .
PS please no Shuster - Manly won't even pick him

Weekes has speed & agility but just comes across as a stock standard 14 to me. He looks undersized on the park to be a center and isn’t a fulltime fullback. He misses tackles front on as well. You wouldn’t sign him as a half as he is very much like for like but not as skilled as what we just grabbed & would cost more than a backup option should.

Re JAC would prefer Staines. JAC has been ordinary by a mile at the bulldogs he picks and chooses his effort moments and doesn’t do the hard yards. Multiple games under 100mtrs this year & only cracked 150+ 4 times this year. His 4 games is the same amount as Staines on half the games (Staines cracked 200mtrs for a game as well). Staines is 22 and aligns to our young setup & salary alot less than JAC. He is a culture glue guy and speaks up which with some of our squad could work as feel we have alot of silent types in the squad backline but that’s the main positive for me.

I always think back to the pacey centre three quarter of moderate dimensions such as Michael O'Connor and Andrew Ettinghausen. Both were dynamic backs.

Interestingly both ran on the balls of their feet, always the sign of a good athlete !

Season finally over - thank God. I am not getting any false hopes up for 2024, like I have the last few seasons. To be honest there are so many current players in our squad who are fringe first graders we probably need 10-15 new injections into our squad. The only current players that I feel are regular first graders are Bula, Staines, Tupou, Toa, Papali, Bateman, Api, Pole, Klemmer, Stefano and maybe Twal. That's 11 out of a squad of 30! Have I missed anyone - please tell me I have.

I'm all for signing JAC if he is available (I don't believe he is). But can we stop pretending Wests is in any way his 'home'

The backline is not up to scratch Toa, Tupou and Bula are talented and maybe Staines but we need strike players. Preferably players with speed and power we lack drive. Koula and Saab badly exposed them.
