Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I know frustration from watching last night will override all arguments, but last night should just be erased as a marker on who should stay & go. Not only were we playing 2 hookers as halves, but had kids covering holes for men, all while the officiating turned the game into a friendly game of tag.

The effect of the actual RULES being disregarded on 3-4 awarded tries should not be discounted. It wasn't a contest. There was no contest to be had. The officials made it more a Jake tribute match.

Nofa phoning in sick....seems weird.

I actually expect we hear more about this- even if just through internal contacts within the club.

Sometimes people don't react well to bad news.

Not necessarily one way or the other. Depends on the development of other players. We can't keep everyone forever. By the time the Tigers are competing for the titles, the squad we see will look vastly different.

I agree. Losing guys on big pay packets and we are coming dead last doesn't seem like a big issue to me especially when those guys haven't been our best players.

A lot depends on what the club actually EXPECTS from players like Papali'i, Utoikamanu, Klemmer, Bateman etc.

I don't think anyone at the Tigers feels that we win a premiership because of Klemmer, for example. But, I expect his introduction is going to benefit Utoikamanu, Seyfarth, Twal & Pole as they transition into 'the guys'.

I doubt the club will let Utoikamanu go without throwing everything at him. They identified him last off season as a player to build around. There's been talk of him eventually taking over the captains role. Sheens openly said we are a development club. Then signed experienced players. It's all about taking their qualities & breeding it into the next generation. Training habits. Not getting stood over- look how Utoikamanu stood up to JWH- how much of that was Bateman/Klemmer influences?

I'm not a fan of this. I think if you are buying players for these reasons it's the wrong reason to buy them. I think you need guys with good attitudes but that is a non-negotiable.

I think he is a player we can build around as well but that to me starts with being honest with the guy. He isn't at this point an elite prop and he needs to get to that level. We shouldn't be offering elite prop money to a guy who isn't performing at that level.

We've done that with the forum favourite, Doueihi, Mbye in the recent past and I don't see it ever working.

I actually think it's even worse than what I'm stating as well because paying overs for those guys leaves less in our cap for other players.

Will be interesting if Nofa goes to the races today with the team if he’s ‘sick’. Boys already posting on Insta in their private suite.

The question is which contract is worse - Bateman's or Klemmer's ?
We can sort of live with a prop who doesn’t get out of first gear if he still makes decent yardage and is defensively sound, but you cannot get away with edge back rowers not getting out of first gear.
We have too many players who don’t get out of first gear, that’s the problem.
Young Kit showed them up a bit last night, by running the ball full steam ahead.

It was only 2 tries that were contentious. Cherry got that ball down.
It was a piss weak effort by our blokes and it fully exposed that we have no speed available bar Staines.

That’s not amazing, it’s selfish.
Couldn’t move 24hrs earlier?
WTF was he doing running out to play first grade?
That made me laugh in a good way 😂
It could only happen at Wests Tigers.
I don’t know if was a good thing he showed courage to play, or a bad thing that he put in a sub standard game because if it.
But it does explain why he was so off his game, he’s much better than that.
