Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He's 2nd, behind Ronald Volkman on goals kicked in KOE.

He looks like a very exciting prospect.
Good move, in my opinion and hopefully more to follow.
Look at Reuben Garrick who is also a goalkicking outside back from the Illawarra. He is one of those players who incrementally improved each year as he matured. I like that development in a player. Listening to him being interviewed, Lobb is a smart young man and we could always do with a bit more nous in the backs.

Garrick is one of my favourite players.
Super reliable.

Although I don't see much of a resemblance between these two players.... Alex seems like the type of player we've needed for years.

So I hope it works out well for the club and he proves to be an asset.

I always believed we should have gone for Garrick when he was at the Dragons.

He's locked in at Manly till 2027

So valuable to their team

Outstanding centre and a more than solid #1 option for when Turbo is injured which is often.

Very smart player, enjoy watching him play too.
The Illawarra produces really good talent. Beau Ryan was a very smart player who made the most of his talent. I remember watching a junior game in Wollongong and my mate pointed out a centre (he wasn't particularly and was above average pace) and said to me he is going to be a star. His name was Ryan Girdler~

You mean that “so called “ news story about a hypothetical situation that is at least a year away and that if something happens in a years time 2 players may begin to look elsewhere? And this is called sports journalism? Wha a pathetic joke of a story…. Just another attempted smear

Aren't they off contract the following year.... if we have another poor year next year it's conceivable that they move on.

I'd expect the unexpected from now on.

We've all heard the story regarding Huamole Olakuatu getting his start at Manly because Manase Fainu brought him along to training....

What about our young player Trey Peni introducing Bula to the coaches and getting him a contract?

Any chance our players have networked with other potential recruits we could get on board? Sell them them the vision.

Can Api get in his cousins ear ? Tell him we'll match and beat what Penrith are paying him and give him a chance to play with his cousin again.

Cousin?

How long has it been since the Tigers had an outside back like Garrick?

Not a superstar or Origin player but just a real solid professional … good defender and finisher …plus his goal kicking

I think he's origin quality but blocked by the incumbents.

I don't think we've ever had a centre that quality.

If Lobb ends up anywhere close to Garrick as a player, then we’ll have a good one.

Based on their signing of Schuster on huge coin and Talau. I don't know if they do know WhatsUp. Garrick is solid as hell though

He didn't debut in NRL until he was 24 and the Gold coast didn't bother retaining him. He spent a number of the years in KOE Cup. Proof that some guys need time to develop and mature

But the Knights found him in the offseason and now he is killing it for them alongside other quality centres and the other winger

someone was saying we were looking at a few players but need to wait until there season ends.
Wonder if it's any of the teams that are out now.
We desperately need backs with speed...
I see what you’re saying but the way we pass the ball to the outside backs it doesn’t matter how fast they are.

We’ve got players with speed but we can’t seem to use them. I hope Morris can bring what he’s learnt from Souths about how to get centres and wingers into space.

Blore is a middle
- he’s played his only decent football there this year…

Why they persist with playing him on an edge is beyond me
Blore could be a really good middle. You can play him 50 minutes there as he has a decent motor. Has a pretty fast play of the ball too. He lacks too much in lateral speed to defend on a edge. Basically a very similar player to Joe Ofahengaue.
