Huh ? The quote was thier b team would beat us , and I explained why it wouldn’t . The rest of your post is irrelevant and obvious .Just because we occasionally play well against a top side, doesn’t mean we are in any way comparable to them.
They play at a competitively high level week after week, after month, after year, after decade.
They churn and burn yearly and replace them with great players they’ve mostly developed. The debutants they had last night are better than any we’ve debuted since Tedesco. They do this regularly.
If our club was half as professional, effective and efficient as Storm we’d be heading in the right direction. Hopefully that happens soon.

Not many other clubs do either. We don't have a player anywhere near Pongas ability
Might be environment. I think it's obvious that the environment at Concord, $80m COE, or demountables isn't one where players excel.Yes not comparing any of our players to Pongha just making an observation how the whole team has found form - under arguably the most maligned coach not to be sacked -including Pongha.
Best, Crosslands,Young, Clune ,Gamble Marzew all playing their best footy and at the beginning of the year it wouldn't have been considered a backline that would be an attacking weapon - let alone being able to step up when key players are injured. I'd be very surprised if anyone predicted they would finish 5th ahead of more fancied teams.
Plenty were tearing strips off us when we were beat narrowly in both games as if we should have beaten them, now the position people are taking is they have a much stronger squad than ours.
But, they are all more successful than us.Not many other clubs do either.
What it highlights to me is the challenge of decision making around giving talent the time to develop into consistent performance versus moving players on. Easy for armchair bandits to talk retrospectively about decisions made by the cub but clearly not an easy thing to get right 100% of the time. But the Knights found him in the offseason and now he is killing it for them alongside other quality centres and the other winger
I liked Kelma in attack but man he was lazy in defence. He seemed to either struggle or simply not bother covering the inside in defence and we seemed to have breaks made through his edge a lot.Every name mentioned strengthens our squad. I could put an argument forward for each player.
Lawton could be the ideal #14. Plays backrow & hooker. Tuilagi is talented- regardless of any bad feeling toward him leaving. Condon is promising as well. Weekes has the speed we lack. Fulton is the type of effort player this club needs too.
Same.
When we played them round 2, we took Ponga out in the first minute and he never returned, they withstood huge goaline pressure from us to take a 2 try lead, lost their winger for 10 minutes for a foul, lost Frizzel to injury as well yet kept playing footy to score again. When they had Saifitti sent off with 15 to go, everyone thought they’d been brave but lose. They kept fighting and held us out. That was at Leichhardt as well with a big crowd.
They are a more mature outfit this year.
Our halves problem this year was down to a stubborn Sheens. No one can convince me otherwise.Newcastle filled their squad really well with capable, hard working and smart players. Even players like Lachlan Miller have played an important role.
On the other hand, we signed Wakeham off the street with about two weeks to go before the season. Who were our backup halves before that? And why did they think Wakeham would be good enough? Did everyone just have complete faith in Doueihi and Brooks? And if so, how did we get that assessment so badly wrong? Sure they got injured, but they were terrible, absolutely terrible, before that. There have been plenty of capable backup halves going around this year, none of them superstars, but they do their job well. Our halves pairing were not only the worst in the league, they were probably also worse than half the other teams' backup option.
It was just really poor recruitment in the area of filling out the squad.
We tend to hyperventilate on here, however, most everyone of us could see that the halves were a huge gaping hole in our squad.
The club must do better at getting the basics right, and it starts with proper management of the squad recruitment.
I would seriously consider taking him for 4 years if Manly coughed up 350 - 400k a season. He is only 22 and does have some serious talent - just lacking in maturity and attitude at the moment. If you could turn that around he would be a bargain.Wouldnt feed Schuster. Signed for 800k a year. Manly would have to pay halve to get rid of him and that wouldn’t look good on the Manly front office
U rate fulton mate?Weeks and Fulton
The Knigjts swapped Chad Randall for himBut the Knights found him in the offseason and now he is killing it for them alongside other quality centres and the other winger
Yeah but he’s an NRL standard winger who is not getting regular games in Canberra’s NRL team, surely he’s not happy with that.Schiller has family history at the Raiders as he is related to the Mullins' family.
