Many forget Ben Ikin the Aus Schools 5/8 came into the North Sydney first grade team as a centre and played well. Greg Florimo was another would could switch between the two positions. I like a player who is versatile and can play two positions.

And going back, there was Laurie Daley.

I really like him. He is a big body and he can roll over the top of the opposition. He hasn't though done that consistently in first grade and isn't an elite prop yet. He should get to that level and then get a pay upgrade.

Does anyone know much about Semisi Kioa in our cup squad. From memory he came up through the sharks system and he was highly regarded as one of the best juniors coming up if not their best prospect within the club throughout his HM and SG ball cup days, was destined for a bright future.

For anyone who watches the cup games often is he a chance at making a FG run? I saw the stat sheet for his last couple of games to end the season and it looks alright.

Chris Lawrence was still a schoolboy up against first graders. Alex Lobb is 21 and those tackle stats are while he is playing NSW Cup. Granted he is still young.

Side note: Oates has looked around including ourselves and has opted as of last night reportedly to stay at Brisbane and fight for his spot. Before people start blowing up that we've missed a target there was never a formal offer offered more just base discussions. However, Oates rejected a deal on offer from Newcastle to finish his career at Brisbane.

My tip is Lachlan Galvin to finish next season as one of our 1st team centres! I reckon Benji will start him as 5/8 in Flegg then progress him into Cup as a centre as a ‘transitionary’ position (much like a young Fittler). If Galvin can work hard in the gym in the off-season and show that his defence is up to it in NSW Cup, he could be a gun centre - strong ball runner, great pass/offload, can chase & take attacking bombs & is deceptively quick. No inside intel, just my own thoughts.
