Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

At the bare minimum we need to lock in Staines and spend what is needed for the best centre we can get . With a quality centre Toa and Naden are ok. They are a level below that
Whilst I agree. Is anyone else not curious as to why other clubs haven’t knocked on the door yet?

It doesn’t add up.

TBC, I personally want him re-signed. He offers speed and finishing you can’t match.

I have to completely disagree.

I think it has top 4 written all over it.

With the exception of 9, when fully fit. It’s a very competitive and dangerous team.

But I guess we won’t know until we revisit in 12 months. That’s just personal opinion.
Mate very true and if I am allowed to fix Tommy's hamstrings top 4 is a possibility

I hate to admit it. But it’s a lethal team when fit.

Class players, big forwards, speed that can’t be matched.

But getting it all on the park at the same time is the issue.

And also. Screw manly. But this is objectively thinking. They have a 1-13 to perform very well.

I love watching Tommy play when fit and it's easy to fix his hamstrings it's just have people forget about what use to work

My comment has nothing to do with Brooks. Just commenting on an ex Tiger and how they look.
Yeah I know, I was just have a laugh bcoz lots go on about the Hastings or Brooks debate and how he’s not the tigers Luke brooks anymore but he’s manly’s.
Wasn’t a shot at you.
Sorry I had to explain my little joke.

All comments are redirected toward Brooks....
You'll have to forgive them, They don't know any other way to communicate.
Did you not get the joke either?
You’re probably a bit jaded by all the Hastings/ Brooks fanatics, of which I’m neither. I wasn’t having a dig, just a joke.

Like most years injuries will determine how they go.

How is Manly even offering these sorts of contracts? Brooks, Turbo and his brother, DCE, Schuster etc all on massive money.
Brooks on massive money? I thought is was a reasonable price tbh… but I’m sure if bunnies can fit Whiton in with Trell, Walker, Cook, Murray, Arrow, Graham and Keon then manly could upgrade Oka lol… DCE massive contract also ended this year and is reported to be only on $700k-$800k in 2024

The money is there at the tigers we just can’t get the players .
we could offer the same player at manly the same deal at the tigers if we wanted to .
Brooks , Laurie , Tommy , Seyfarts , Wakeman , James all going plus the cap left over this season to use up front on players , plenty cash around , PS. He would be a very solid addition for us but we need backs badly

OLAKAU’ATU 7-YEAR DEAL

Manly has begun talks to lock down explosive edge forward Haumole Olakau’atu on a seven-year contract worth around the $6m mark.

Both Sea Eagles chief executive Tony Mestrov and player agent Mario Tartak have confirmed that negotiations are under way to keep Olakau’atu at Brookvale until 2030.

The 24-year-old is regarded among the best edge forwards in the competition alongside the likes of Liam Martin, David Fifita, Billy Kikau, Keaon Koloamatangi and Tyson Frizell.

Olakau’atu is already under contract for another two seasons at Manly but is on below-market value at $500,000-a-season.

Mestrov’s plan is to upgrade his deal for the next two seasons then extend for another five years. The new contract averages out at around $850,000 a season.
Manly are using "smoke and mirrors" here they could not possibly afford to retain Olakau'atu on that money .. !! Manly are trying the oldest rick in the book here trying to make other clubs think that they have enough money to keep Olakau'atu .. !!
