Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Thats my point. No more 1 man teams. But there can be an argument if Clearly didn't play. Great observation Vicious. Benji did it.
Benji’s game against the Sharks is the greatest individual attacking performance in the history of rugby league.
He loves the club, is idolised by many and is a great communicator, yet some say he can’t guide our young players to future success ?

More to head coaching than loving your organisation, being idolised as a player and being able to communicate.

Joel Caine made reference today that good players don't typically make good coaches.

More reserved personalities that weren't good players, their personality better suited foe coaching for example Robinson, belemy, Bennett

Your alphas like Burgess, benji personality better for playing not coaching

What does any of that have to do with his coaching ability? He will be judged now as a coach, none of that means anything in the near future, just Ws and Ls.

Sterlo is a perfect example. When asked he always said media was more comfortable than being a coach. Dude was too smart to turn that lifestyle into a coach. Much better to be remembered as a great player and media legacy than a coach with a 10% w/l record.

Yeah it could definitely work out. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

The way I see it is Fulton is doing what he is asked atm and building a very good young prospect squad which is now down to our coaching to deliver what they asked for and maximize the potential.

Have huge amount of doubts about the ability to execute the strategy however but time will tell.

Matty johns made a good point the other week. Due to there being so much money in media now there heaps more money and opportunities for the players just to go into the media resulting in less coaches.

Walters, Slater, Bennett, Chris Anderson, Hasler, Folkes to name a few off top of my head as very good players who also go well as coaches. Depends what you think of Stuart, you could add him. People criticise meninga but he's the Australian coach and is best ever origin coach, on record anyway.

Not endorsing Benji but plenty of good players make good coaches. He seems very sharp and personable and he's the most exciting player I've ever supported in any sport, unbelievable, but I wouldn't have picked him as coach and no idea how he'll go. Would love the fairytale story.

Naden replaced by Kayal Iro or Hiroti

AJ Kepoa replaced by Allan Fitzgibbon

Tristan Reilley replaced by Canberra Raider player like Savage, HSS or Cotric

Charlie Staines replaced by south's Sydney player such as Tass or Izaac Thompson, if not... one of their prospects, Munro or Ethan Ferguson.

Taylan (Penrith) & Terrel May (Roosters) both off contract 2024 - can we offer a package deal ? They could both benefit our squad.

Release and replace I say.

Or at least see how Fainu goes?

Also Josh Schulster. If Josh becomes the next NRL gun, we know Fulton was right. Yet if Josh Schulster, who Fulton wanted over here, becomes a paper weight at Manly. We know that Fulton's instincts were wrong on this one.

We need more football brains at our club. Manly has a huge Junior pool and getting Fulton allows us to tap into that. He also seems a players, recruiter. Strong bonds will help get guys here.

I see leaks in the media that were not there a year ago. We should walk anyone doing that crap. (don't know if this is Fulton, but if it is he needs to go).
Yes we should boot any leakers, but claiming manly have a huge junior talent pool is just crazy. They have the equal smallest pool in the comp, with the sharks. They target a few players from our catchment areas, in which we're now much stronger at retaining. It will be tough for them in future years

He can't, until he proves that he can. Just the same as I can't run the hundred in under 11 seconds. I can't until I prove I can.

He might have potential as a coach, just like our Young players have potential. Some make it, some don't. Benji will be the most inexperienced coach the NRL has seen for some time

That's funny, especially Fitzgibbon
