Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He can't, until he proves that he can. Just the same as I can't run the hundred in under 11 seconds. I can't until I prove I can.

He might have potential as a coach, just like our Young players have potential. Some make it, some don't. Benji will be the most inexperienced coach the NRL has seen for some time
The four coaches before him have all been very experienced and none of them have steered us to the finals.
With that in mind I think having an aspiring coach with the club at heart is a risk well worth taking.

Worried about Benji but tbh the issue is the playing roster. It simply isn't good enough next year to compete.
So true, Benji is not taking over a Chooks type roster. It’s a roster that is light years away from being up there with the top four teams.

In saying that, they are at least looking Long term and not doing what they have in the past and use the scatter gun approach and throwing lots of money around at players without any plan.

2024 will be a hard year, keeping fans happy and keeping the media off their back. Anyway I think Benji is worth giving a decent shot at the gig and could surprise a few

Not really though, besides Klokstad and Ford they signed experienced in form players such as Barnett, Niakore and Walker all whom were massive ins for their former club.

not really?

Klokstad, Ford and Luke Metcalf…

That’s three players… two of them in the spine… who have we signed again?

Let's wait and see how 24 turns out. Maybe we'll overachieve. Everyone though should have realistic expectations and in my opinion anything above 17th is an improvement.

I'm looking forward to seeing guys like Galvin, Fainu, Sullivan, To'a, Tupou, Bula, Stef etc play and see if they can improve.

The way I see it is Fulton is doing what he is asked atm and building a very good young prospect squad which is now down to our coaching to deliver what they asked for and maximize the potential.

Have huge amount of doubts about the ability to execute the strategy however but time will tell.
How’s he building a young prospect squad , has he add more players than were there before he came , i for 1 think he is a fake been here for long enough but other than the two brothers who were told they could leave manly what else has he done NOTHING

I hope you don’t go off this early with your wife…

I think we can have hopes for next year but not sure of high expectations with these guys

These guys are the players we need to come good and come really good. Sullivan, Fainu, Galvin and Large are 4 guys with a great junior pedigree and we need at least 2 of them to turn into stars.

If they don't aren't we screwed ?

Tigers sniff around
We broke the story last week about Wests Tigers’ interest in Michael Cheika.

There is no question Cheika has been approached by the Tigers, via club great Robbie Farah. Farah deserves praise for showing leadership at a club that often struggles in that area.

Cheika has long had an interest in being involved in rugby league on a full-time basis and he’s done a considerable apprenticeship under Trent Robinson at the Roosters and with the Lebanese rugby league team.

In the background is Cheika’s desire to spend more time at home in Sydney, which he hasn’t done a lot of in recent years. He is also vastly experienced in big-time sport.

John Morris is an important addition to the coaching line-up.

Benji Marshall had a decorated playing career, but he’s facing arguably the toughest job in the NRL next year. If he can somehow galvanise the group, it will be one of the biggest achievements of his already impressive career.

I’m not expecting them to be great in 2024… there is a chance that the Fainu’s may not see much first grade …

After that ..let’s hope the club has something with at least a couple of them… but we have seen in the past that more than a few of these big name hyped kids don’t go onto much
