Why the hell would they modify the Logo?
It's plastered all over the 100 million dollar building they just finished.
It's pretty much what they've done every 5 Years since 2009...
Logo - Banner - BG...
I thought the 2014 & 2020 ones looked good - the same - But different...
This one is OK....
Dunno that what you've presented gives you grounding to be calling out anyone...
You've just rejigged what they presented to you and claimed it took more 'effort'?
The regular logo doesn't need to be modified, it is now part of the clob, and will return properly in 2025, but just slapping it on a shield for the 25th anniversary and quite lazily to be honest is a waste. The text is redundant the way it is used, and as it isn't incorporated into the actual design could have been used far better or not at all in the 25 year logo, which will only be used for a single season anyway.
The previous logos for anniversaries were modified each time, even if only slightly (usually around the text part to incorporate the anniversary text). This one, not at all.
Note the previous logos had the text part changed to fit the logo into the design more.
Onto my quick mockup. I only said it took me 20 minutes to make it from what I was using as the basis (which was the logo with background). My point was that the design that they have released couldn't have taken a designer more than 10 minutes to make. An anniversary logo should have some thought put into it, and not be such a quick and not thought through design.
And nowhere did I say mine was better, I just stated how long it took me to create something a little more integrated, and that the "effort" was not only slapping the logo on a shield and not looking at the integration, but actually making small changes (the removal of the text, and addition of the WT monogram, and moving the banner up slightly) and that I also had to work with a design that had the background on it so couldn't just make the modifications as quickly as I could have without it.
It was more a comment on how lazy the logo's design is, and how quickly it would have been for the designer to make (and probably got paid decently to do it, unless it was a free in house job), over any quality of my work.
