Don’t know what to make of this exactly …
So what is happening with the proposed upgrades at LO and Cambo?
Thought the state Govt withdrew the funding …
Sounds like Labor keener on this model.

Govt funds for the existing grounds to be improved to 2024+ standards. What is plan A?
Just thinking the Dogs would want in if the stadium goes ahead. We won’t create an identity if we have to share the stadium with another team. The article reckons that 1 or 2 games at LO a year could still happen which I can live with, but if the stadium has to be shared with another team, I don’t want it to go ahead. Would rather just play full time outta LO and CSS rather than play at Liverpool if we have to share with another team.we don't want a shared ground surely.
if they play 2 games at a upgraded LO and 8 or 19 at Liverpool maybe...
But would prefer they stick with CSS and LO upgraded
We currently struggle to get 10K at Campbelltown with 20K capacity, don’t think right now it would be smart to build a 30K stadium in an area where we struggle to hit 10K attendance. I think that’s why they are considering Liverpool since it’s technically neutral.I love Leichhardt and come from the Balmain side of the joint venture, however Campbelltown has the room to build a 30k seat stadium which would benefit the MacArthur region and could bring events like concerts to a growth area of Sydney.
I know we have not seen the support of the venue as much as we would like but success changes that along with decent sides being allocated to the play against us at a suitable time.
It is also on a rail line that is easy to get to if you take public transport whereas the eighth wonder is a nightmare to get to and out of on most occasions.
Liverpool to me would be a shared venue with the Bulldogs and that is no different than the Commbank arrangement we had with Parramatta or even when we used Allianz which is Easts home ground.
I do not believe we lose our identity or favour the Wests side of our joint venture rather base ourselves in an area that will support or growth for the future.
One team with one home is what we all need
Can I just say that living in Bleak City, they have 2 grounds here, MCG and Marvel, to play all the city games( except for Geelong which is 75ks away)Just thinking the Dogs would want in if the stadium goes ahead. I’ve been at a sold out Ctown when the team is travelling well… has nothing to do with the area & more on team performanceWe currently struggle to get 10K at Campbelltown with 20K capacity, don’t think right now it would be smart to build a 30K stadium in an area where we struggle to hit 10K attendance. Whilst it would be more expensive It is easier to build 30k than try to add on 10k at a later date if we need it. Campbelltown has a capacity of 17.5k now so makes no sense for a stadium to be built for another 2.5k fans even if it is modern. We currently struggle to get 10K at Campbelltown with 20K capacity, don’t think right now it would be smart to build a 30K stadium in an area where we struggle to hit 10K attendance. Yeah AFL and NRL are very different in that regard. Victoria pretty much embraces the game that it doesn’t care about only playing in two stadiums in Melbourne. Tigers have played at all 3 grounds for home games and it hasn’t worked out for them. They want to create an identity playing at those 3 has failed it simply won’t work. Fans care about the territories here just the way it is.Can I just say that living in Bleak City, they have 2 grounds here, MCG and Marvel, to play all the city games( except for Geelong which is 75ks away)
Interesting, and it works.Maybe all this talk about grounds is really not necessary.
We have 3 proper stadiums!in Sydney- Accor, Allianz and Commbank ? Mmmmm…..
Using the AFL model it could possibly look like this:Can I just say that living in Bleak City, they have 2 grounds here, MCG and Marvel, to play all the city games( except for Geelong which is 75ks away)

Only historically, don’t you think initially the same arguments applied when all the grounds were condensed into only two! People now support teams not locations and draw spectators from all parts of Melbourne.Yeah AFL and NRL are very different in that regard. I’ve been to a sold out Leichhardt and I do agree to an extent. However the games we played at LO this year if we played those games down at Campbelltown, we wouldn’t have hit 10K attendance. We just hit 10K against Manly and Raiders was 11K and Storm was 8K. While fans are willing to go to the games if the team is doing well, we struggle to hit in Campbelltown more so than Leichhardt. Even with 2 wooden spoons we still get around 12K at LO. Campbelltown barely hits 10K.I’ve been at a sold out Ctown when the team is travelling well… has nothing to do with the area & more on team performance
Like I said Melbourne let alone Victoria embrace the game completely different to other states. If all the NRL teams did what they do down there, it would struggle to get attendance.Only historically, don’t you think initially the same arguments applied when all the grounds were condensed into only two! You see all the teams already have an identity.
Initially maybe but over time I think it would build back.Like I said Melbourne let alone Victoria embrace the game completely different to other states. If all the NRL teams did what they do down there, it would struggle to get attendance.
