Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Isn't Sullivan meant to be a 7?
He always has been, but the concern is he has not demonstrated much willingness to take control and step up to the plate in his limited opportunities as the dominant playmaker at NRL level.
The hope is he’s still very young for an NRL playmaker, his dominance in the lower grades means he no doubt has the talent if he comes with the right attitude to match it.
Hopefully the hurt of not being wanted by his local club will drive him to become the best version of himself very quickly.

Yeh who knows how much the Griffin factor was.
He looked good in the juniors as a 7 but saints stuffed him around positionally once he hit grade.

I wouldn’t be paying over a mill for him but he’s a type of character we need in our squad imo
I agree re character. Benji wants more leaders who can drive the standards required of regularly winning / premiership teams.

Attracting Luai to support Api would be HUGE! Putting personal opinions aside, he is actually a family man, a very popular club man amongst team mates & a winner, we can't deny that! He also brings a voice, energy & that dominant personality we need in our team which is heavy with passive personalities & youth.

100% they just had nothing left to give last 20 mins, if Luai was injury free I dare say he would’ve been cutting them to bits as well but Cleary just freakish. Even tho people don’t like Luai he can definitely be a game changer and a good signing
I just think his ego would override anything else he could bring to our club.
Even thought he could badmouth his childhood friend ( T’oo) at his wedding for a cheap laugh.
Not for me, too much risk and too much money.

An extra 2 million dollars on his next contract is probably a good reason.

As I said. Anyone can see he wants to stay at Penrith. Money does eventually talk though.
Not our money. Players realise its a sure fire way to loser ville and can be career suicide. Luai would be best advised to stay at Penrith and keep growing his brand.

I wouldn’t think so.
I haven’t seen much or even any mention of it…but Penrith started playing attacking, point scoring football in that GF after he left the field.
Cogger provided a better foil for Cleary and gave him the room to target certain parts of the field.
Urge you to go back and watch that last part of the game again. Cogger was playing first receiver and as a result gave Cleary more room to playmake. Prehaps it was because Yeo wasn’t on the field that they needed to adopt that style. But then I ponder, is Cleary a better half playing off the back of another?
Wonder what that might mean for Luai if Penrith go down that path.
