Exactly and thank you for making my point KR. Those 40 kids dead are within 250 palestinians killed during a military action during the May 2021 Israeli / Palestinian Conflict which lasted 11 days and was prompted by Hamas firing rockets into Israel. All of those 250 palestinian deaths (and any Israeli deaths) are a tragedy and the kids moreso but they are a result of a military retaliation to rockets fired on Israeli citizens.

That is very different to 1500 Hamas troops storming into Israel, specifically seeking out civilians, intentionally performing atrocities on them and then uploading the videos.

Do you seriously think these things are equivalent?

I'm not gonna sit here & keep repeating myself so i'll say it for the last time. Israel & the IDF have been committing acts of violence & massacre for many years now, this does not make what Hamas did justifiable as what they did was despicable too & there are no good sides in this war, no better sides in this war.

Meh.....personally, Im not on the side of beheading babies, shooting kids in their beds, raping women and terrorism.

No, I just thought you were looking for examples of Israelis killing Palestinian children too and found that. I don't think I'm as well educated on the conflict as you and am just presenting what I find.

I gather that a lot of people's beliefs on this situation stem from Palestinians being displaced after World War II and its population being mistreated over the years by Israel.

I don't think anything in the conflict to date is equivalent to the actions Hamas committed over the weekend though.

From what I can see, both sides are clearly mistreating children en masse, so there's no "good side".

I also think it's sad and terrible that Hamas has gained popularity and support in Palestinian society, although I think what a lot of this shows, is that the desperation and anger of the people in that area is just so different to anything I've ever known.

Just so far removed from almost anything we have to deal with in Australia.

Agreed (though would suggest: do not watch the videos), it's baffling, there is no comparison or 'both sides-ing' this.

The protests in Sydney gave a glimpse into the fact that they are here. They operate here. As more are displaced through this war, they will run like the rats they are and hide in countries like ours. As their numbers grow, they become emboldened.
Whilst it’s true we don’t live with this crap day to day, anything can happen at any time. The reason people are telling others to watch some of these videos is due to the Western Worlds naivety in these occurrences. It is our weakness. When it was first reported it sounded like a firefight broke out…something a lot of us have become somewhat accustomed to hearing….until details started emerging. This is the sort of shit that Vikings used to do.

I actually strongly suspect that this is the motive for the attacks, to provoke Israel into a retaliation that will kill innocent civilians and provoke the rest of the Islamic resistance against Israel.

This western naivety and lack of understanding was demonstrated by the media correctly calling out the Sydney protests chanting "Gas the Jews" but praising the Melbourne protests as peaceful whilst they are carrying banners and chanting "Palestine Free, From the River to the Sea" meaning the obliteration of Israel,

The article concerning Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon's remarks on Hezbollah and Netanyahu were no doubt made to cause maximum embarrassment. Also the article as to whether Hezbollah will join the war is concerning. Only time will tell whether Gaza is nothing more than a stalking horse. I hope this is not the case as there is potential for this to escalate.

Interesting the US Govt is arranging its first charter flight from Israel on Friday to destinations in Europe. Our Govt was criticised on Ch 9 this morning for its response and also for the flights initially terminating in the UK. The PM advised a second phase arrangement for flights from the UK will be organised. The US will make their citizens sign an agreement to repay the cost of the travel prior to travel. All travel and accommodation once they reach Europe will be the responsibility of their citizens. Our Govt has done well and I'm glad we live in Australia.

A video was released today of an interview with Hamas leader Ali Baraka on RT (Russia propaganda network) where he basically says exactly this. That Hamas lulled the west into believing that they cared about looking after the 2.5M Palestinians in Gaza, all the while planning this attack for 2 years with support from Iran, Hezbollah & Turkey. He says the quiet part out loud they they prey on the fact that the West "loves life" and that they crave death and martyrdom and that the death of their children in defence of their land is a good thing that gives them martyrdom.

The west makes the same mistake over and over and over again of imposing our values on other cultures. We assume that all people crave safety for their children and a desire for prosperity, growth, civilisation. Its simply not true. These people do not seek the same things that we do. They crave jihad and martyrdom but we dont believe them despite they say it out loud with their words, their actions and write it in their Charter.. The West simply dont believe it because it is so foreign and barbaric to us. But it is the truth.
