Which team will get the 18th Franchise

Fair point but people in remote areas can get behind the club without physically travelling to the games. And the stadium will still be a sell out every match that's played there, 100% guaranteed. You can't say the same for Perth, Wellington, North Sydney, Central/Sunshine Coast.
I don't think you can guarantee that at all. It looked only half full last week for a test match.

I would agree with you, but PNG has loads of juniors that just get wasted.

Going to Perth, QLD, NZ just dilutes the talent pool.

PNG would grow the junior base for the NRL as a whole in 5-10 years.
They've been in the QLD Cup since 2023 and produced just Olam. Shouldn't those wasted juniours be coming through that comp?

No. To expect their juniors to relocate to QLD if they want to play NRL is ludicrous. For PNG, by PNG.

They need to play out of PNG otherwise you are robbing them of the economic benefit of having a club out of PNG. All their juniors play in PNG. What exposure do they get to NRL systems by having the club based in QLD?

If you want a QLD club, then have one.

Good luck getting current players living in PNG.

Just a question...why are you moving PNG to QLD?

Can't they play out of PNG?
Of course they can but given the challenges of living in PNG I think people are simply offering an alternative scenario. If it’s purely a PNG side then it would run totally out of PNG but if you introduce non PNG players/families they will hardly be rushing to live in Port Moresby.
Many executives of existing PNG companies base their families in Cairns and FIFO every weekend.
There will have to be significant planning and compromise to make it work.

It’s not my preferred option but just think there is a strong push behind the scenes to make it happen.
I personally believe the Central Coast could support a team, especially with a great ground and huge Leagues Club next door.

Ridiculous they don’t have a team. Sadly, they are way down the pecking order.

Have you ever been to PNG? you can live a great life on an NRL players salary

Logic says Central Coast should have a team . Massive and distinct population pool 500,000 plus and all League mad
Nothing is logical though I suspect PNG 18th and maybe a Pacifica team to follow
