Give them Bateman for Olam.
We can’t lose on that one, he done nothing for us, nothing for England against Tonga and at his age he’s not improving,
That would also clear the path for Blore to be our regular starting back rower which should be more of an incentive for him to re-sign with us long term,

Blore has played his best footy with us in the middle. While I don’t want to lose him either, he will not be a suitable replacement for Bateman. He and Papali’I are our best backrowers right now we can’t afford to let either go with no suitable replacement. I don’t know if Bellamy wants him in the middle or on the edge but with us he’ll be a middle.

I certainly hope so, but if he plans to move to Melbourne from 2025 onwards we may as well move him on and get something sorted with Olam.

but they don’t want Bateman…his contract is too long and too expensive

In negotiations you got to make both sides happy …. Things aren’t going to work out to give your side the best of the deal too often
