Concord the place isn’t attractive?
Id rather live in Sydney than St.Helens

Or the club isn’t attractive?
Id rather play NRL than SL
Im presuming you were born and raised in Sydney, or at the very least live here, so that‘s easy for you to say. It’s a lot different from an outsider’s perspective. Somebody’s home town/city usually carries a lot more weight with someone over how much more glamorous another city appears. I remember back in the day, another Pommy, Leon Pryce came over here with the England team and copped it because he said he preferred Blackpool over Bondi. I remember the Telegraph having a side by side of the two places on the back page, laughing at the guy. He wasn’t trying to be insulting, he was just going with what he was more familiar with. I would too. I wouldn’t live in Bondi either.

Let me know when you get off your self righteous high horse, chief.
BTW the Leon Pryce thing - he was stirring

Was it ever confirmed that Sheens was leaving the club after 24? The club never publicly stated what his plans were. For all we know, he was moving back into his old role before Madge got punted.

I posted yesterday, incorrectly, that I couldn't wait until today for the announcement that we had signed 5 or 6 representative players.

@phil1986 you are 100% correct and the club will not be able to announce these signings for another 10 days.

Sorry about that Chief.

After the 10 day free look period expires, wouldnt we then need to wait another similar period for the NRL to ratify the contract? If they had 50 contracts land in their inbox wouldn’t we be lucky to get any news before Christmas? I don’t know how this works, but I won’t be holding my breath.

Do you mean the cooling off period? Almost certain that isn’t a thing anymore

This stinks like McDonnell , Mole bullshit to me . How does the family even know that they’re not better off with Benji . None of us do . You might think that was bullshit the way sheens was let go (it wasn’t ) , but only a fool would throw the baby out with the bath water re 2024 and beyond . What happens if he signs with the panthers as per this story and Luai resigns for 3 years . Now Galvins screwed until 2028, making him 22. The smart play is to ride out 24 and re-assess at around June next year .
This screams undermining from the eels , sea eagles , panthers etc.
There’s blood in the water at the moment . So the sharks are circling . We just have to be smart how we hold them off .
I’m looking at you Fulton . Put your ego in the holster for a bit .
Bullshit for mine also , am sure his family would know that Benji is fully endorsed by Sheens

Sounds like issac Moses

The only way I can see it being true is that Galvin is not impressed we have signed Sezar, Sullivan and Fainu, and now supposedly chasing Luai, that would probably be enough to make you want to assess your prospects. Personally I think we should leave Luai at Penrith, we don't need a stockpile of halves

Good point.
Benji is already talking about Galvin so you'd think he would be on his radar.

Club sent attractive.
If I was the father of a gun young player, I’d heavily influence a decision to sign elsewhere.

We desperately need proven quality NRL players.
Laui and Manu are about the best available to the marketplace..not the biggest fan of him personally, but has runs on the board in the current NRL ..unlike every other 6 and 7 weve signed.
If we get him, dont need Galvin tbh

Hopefully we can secure that deal - he showed some really really good signs at points throughout the year and he’s still extremely raw converting from Rugby playing the way he did at the age of 21.

He’s also 191cms and still growing into his body. I believe he’ll be a massive threat in the league one day if I’m being completely honest.
Which all means he will excel at another club…..sigh

100% we all get swept up by the hype of juniors (myself included), but all the talent in the world counts for jack if you can't make the step up to the NRL.
Not saying there's truth to the rumour but if Galvin wants to think he's entitled to a 1st grade spot because he's the next big thing, then tell him to go suck an egg.

With the Scott Fulton factor & new Jersey Flegg coach Leon Latulipe coming from coaching Manly JF last season, I would not be surprised if we have signed Manly JF fullback Lehi Hopoate who is still eligible for Flegg. Has come up through the grades with the Fainu brothers and probably in the top 3-4 players in their Flegg team last season.
Hopefully we get a Flegg/NSW Cup squad list and train and trial confirmation as players come back next week. Based on HMatts and SG Ball Manly converts, I agree that we probably have a Flegg or Cup player or 2 coming aswell.
