Benji Marshall #70

. Just
Ohio, people sitting near me couldn't understand why someone from Australia would go to a Browns and Bengals game and not some of the big market teams. They didn't think there would be Bengals fans in Australia.
Ohio.

Did they buy you a Budweiser or Coors light at least? The Bengals. Tiger stripes. Bengal Tigers.

I agree, would be good to go straight to the future, Sezer behind glass in case of emergency
If Luai comes though it will likely mean one moves to 14 but lots of water to go under lots of bridges and we need options
Luai has played next to no reserve grade in his career as yet. Sullivan has played loads of it and a fair few first grade games. I reckon their plan is Sezer and Sullivan to start the year and let Luai get use to the club and reserve grade and ease him into first grade, a bit like Bulla this season. And it’s the right move!

I am so critical of us signing Sezer, yet I used to love watching him at the titans. He was kinda a guy that could make it or break it.

Yet why with Benji as head coach do we need a "halves" partner to Nurture them?
Particularly a 5/8 in Sezer, who sure played 1 good season at Halfback.

If you want a halves mentor: James Mahoney, Chris Sandow, That red head from Newcastle/Brisbane/Penrith (forget the name). A dedicated halfback can coach 5/8.

Look, lets see how this goes on the field. Sezer was such a wrong choice, I liked him as a player.
As a player 5 years ago at 5/8.
??? He’s not guaranteed anything . He’s just another guy in the halves room . One with experience , and knowledge and no issue with parting with that knowledge . I don’t see what the issue is .
If Fainu and Sullivan beat him out . They beat him out . Maybe Galvin is better than everyone . Maybe AD comes back and kicks arse, who knows .
I’ve said it before , if we have decided that the future is Sullivan and Fainu/ Galvin , then signing a half who isn’t in his last year or 2 just would have got them playing somewhere else . The reason they’re all here is opportunity. Which wouldn’t have happened if you sign Luke brooks for example and continue the status quo .
He’s an adult in the room . It’s up to him whether his play can match that .

I can’t see the club paying a player $1m to play reserve grade?

Take your million dollar marquee star recruit and whack him in reserve grade. Yep, definitely the plan to piss him off straight away and make him wonder why he signed.

Tbf passion only goes so far in anything.
Can’t knock Benji's passion, the question mark will be on the technical coaching ability
I honestly wish Benji the very best of luck, Tigers have great potential to be pushing for that 8 spot.
In the pursuit of success one cannot fail when being sincere towards their endeavours and this is Benji.
