We've seen him without Cleary (good) and we've seen Cleary without Luai also (also good)Ivan Cleary has been "warning" potential suitors for Luai that they might just find he won't be as potent a weapon without Nathan alongside him. Leaving aside Ivan's obvious desire to scare away other clubs interested in signing the bloke, he might well be right.
I'm wondering what has has come between them. Something has happened for the traitorous turd to make the comments he has about Luai. We've seen him without Cleary (good) and we've seen Cleary without Luai also (also good)
Not sure what Ivan is trying to achieve - other than downplay and upset Luai... or maybe gaslight him into thinking he needs Penrith more than Penrith needs him.
Either way, I'm not convinced he leaves but I think for his storyline, it'd be for the best... and we're the perfect destination. Get paid & bring the Tigers out of the ashes, into the promise land, under Benjis tutelage.
I don't have to like the bloke. I just wanna start bloody winning games.Luai is generally regarded in rugby league circles as one of the better blokes in the NRL.
A mate has been in origin camp for the past 3 years and said fox, to’o and Luai are the best blokes in the team. Give the most to fans, treat the staff the best (apparently RCG is the worst bloke)
Luai told ivan he's chasing the money?very strange to crap on a player publicly like thatI'm wondering what has has come between them. Something has happened for the traitorous turd to make the comments he has about Luai.

we punched above our weight with that crack down on the rules, but yes ,ivan can jam his bus up into the depths of his upper bowlIvan just wants to keep him for as little as he can to make his team/club stronger.I can't blame him for that but i do blame him for leaving us in the poo with a poor squad that he overpaid and put together

It’s nice and romantic to think he’d be motivated to come here to take us from the outhouse to the penthouse, he might even make that statement if he signs. But the only true motivation for him to sign with us will be money. And you know what, as much as I don’t like him, and believe it’s pretty shitty if that is what a player’s sole motivation is, when you have won 3 premierships, played Origin, and almost lead a minnow nation to a World Cup win, you’ve earned the right to only care about money at that stage.I dare say luai breaking away from the panthers is not just about money. The bloke will always be robin to batman while he plays for them. He's never going to be considered elite. He'll always be in Nathan's shadow.
Let's hope he comes here wanting to prove the panthers success wasn't just cleary.
No way! We’re not taking his son as well.Ivan Cleary has been "warning" potential suitors for Luai that they might just find he won't be as potent a weapon without Nathan alongside him. 100% correct as much as I HATE to admit itIvan Cleary has been "warning" potential suitors for Luai that they might just find he won't be as potent a weapon without Nathan alongside him. It's just speculation until the time comes.100% correct as much as I HATE to admit it
Luai is a gun 6 but it helps when the other guy next to u is Nathan C.
Luai makes us better and is worth the Overs!
I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone here that Ivan looks out for himself first and foremost.Ivan Cleary talking down one of his players that has helped get him three premierships …
he is a good bloke isn’t he, Ivan?
next stop - The Bulldogs …he will fit in well with their culture
I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone here that Ivan looks out for himself first and foremost.
It really was a bizarre thing to do unless Ivan already knows he is on his way out, in which case it’s just very spiteful.

You sound like one of the few who actually took this thread seriously.5 days later..zilch …I’ll assume this “ all but confirmed rumour“ is just more BS ….
Of course he still might come …as I have no doubt the Tigers will offer him the most money…
This will probably play out for months, like the Moses deal did… no need to be in a hurry right ? He is still under contract next year …
