Shawn Blore #235

Tumeth reminds me a lot of Liam Martin tbh.

not saying Tumeth will get there but Liam Martin didn’t even debut until he was 21 so wouldn’t write him off yet. Big year for him though no doubt.
Mate i hope you a right, but looks very small to me ,so would have to have plenty of mongrel in him.

I’m guessing this is referring to Joffa. It had been at least 5 months since we re-signed him at the time. This is only a few weeks since both re-signed. Besides not much were interested in Seyfarth apart from Warriors earlier in the year and possibly Dogs who didn’t go through with it. Twal has more upside to him which could’ve landed him elsewhere but decided to stay. I don’t see either of them leaving now.
Yea, I don't get it.

I thought the Punting of Joffa was to make room for someone OR Joffa's motivation was gone.
Neither seemed to be the case.

Yet stack Joe O vs Seyfarth:

Near identical. Joe plays 4 more games and yes Joe makes a few more tackles. But 600k worth? nope.
Blows Joe O out of the park.

Looking at it this way, punting Joe O makes a lot of sense.

Where does that leave Blore,
More Dynamic then all three.

Compare this to Klemmer and Bateman

You see Klemmer is a run eater and Bateman is an offload machine. Blore is doing OKAY, but certainly no Machine on any stat.

For all the talk, Mr Blore misses a lot of games.
There was a game this year where he got hit high. Legit high. Instead of playing the ball he carried on like a proper pork chop to the referee and his opponent. Ten second play the ball. Bellamy will need to teach him the proper mentality of a footy player. Get on with it.

Melbourne is the last place he will learn that.

However if you extrapolate this:
Bateman averaged one offload every 48mins or every 7.9 runs.
Blore average one offload every 28minutes or every 4.2 runs.
Klemmer averages .36m running metres every minute and 9.6m per run
Blore averages .7 running metres every minute and 9.7m per run.
Of course playing less minutes Blore has less fatigue to contend with when accruing his stats, but he is at least as a machine as either.

Bateman n Klemmer also play bigger minutes but them minutes on blores clock and I'd venture to say he'd outplay both of em

Blore looked reasonable as a middle forward but we have plenty of middles in the roster and Kit, Faagatu and Sukkar on nrl contracts from 2025 plus Klem, Stef, Twal,Seyfarth, Pole, Matamua, Miller all signed already - he is surplus to our needs so if we can get a swap for Olam we take it

I've been looking at some of the offload numbers of other players last year and Blores runs per offload are absolutely ridiculous. Some bettered him per minute but none came close at runs per offload. I couldnt find anyone else under 6.

His head was split open.. think it’s fair the high tackle should’ve been looked at by the ref if his head was split above the eyebrow.

Just saw blore in the training pics maybe he's staying after all.I hope so we're short on backrowers
Ice and Bateman can both play 80, barring injury he is at least first drop. I assume that’s a major reason Blore is looking at the exit.

I'd prefer him to Bateman to be honest he makes to many mistakes and gives away to many penalties
Bateman is a player others want to play with. He absolutely destroyed Tonga recently when playing for England. I know what you’re saying but I believe the errors this year were a consequence of trying to do too much in a poor side. Exhibit B is Luke Brooks.

I hope your right
