2024 Pre-Season

Did we sign Sezer as a prop? Kidding lol, he does look kinda chunky though
Hairline gone also...

Should tagged along with Blake & Josh when they got their transplants in Turkey.

Few months before round 1, I'd expect him to get his fitness up.

Samuela has said he has already been training more in the front row position. Working alongside Stefano, Fainu knows he's in good hands to take his game to new heights next season.

"Yeah I’ve been training in the middle a lot more, we haven’t talked much about where I’ll be playing yet but I’ve just been in and out of the backrow and the middle so far," Fainu said. "I definitely want to learn more off Stefano. I grew up knowing his family so I’m pretty close with him and can talk to him as a close mate.

"Stefano has also featured junior Origin and like him, I’d love to go on and play for my State one day. Just seeing someone you know make a team like that gives you such a drive and makes it seem possible I guess."

Fonua Pole looks like an absolute weapon in these pre season shots.

I think he's in for a BIG year.
Lol don’t fall for the pre season hype man…all our photographic Tarzans turn into Jane come round 1

Why are so many obsessed with wanting aggression. Aggression doesn’t win games. I’d rather obsess over players with class.
Yeah I’d hardly call it an obsession, but whatever.
I wouldn’t mind having a couple of forwards in the side that are class with a bit of aggression and put some fear into the opposition. It’s a balance and right now it’s out.

It's like asking someone to be more angry prior to a boxing match. I'd prefer the guy who was cool, calm and collected with talent than a fruit loop loose canon.

I want quick play the balls, hard runs, footwork at the line, speed, good crisp passing, elusive running etc.

Skills pay the bills.

For every JFH there are three TPJ’s. Seriously, you can count on one hand players that are considered aggressive that are high quality. Most are just hot heads.

It has nothing to do with a player being a quality player. I actually think it's a negative. Very rarely I've seen it work. I remember Mark Geyer at Origin. It worked once or twice then in a big game. I suppose everyone remembers those events and not the time he spent at the Tigers and had like 2 good games.

Would you even call JFH aggressive ? His job is making hard runs and getting quick play the balls and making big tackles in the middle of the park. If he can't do that he isn't going to be a very good player. I don't see him flying off the handle and getting into fights or hitting someone late or something like that.

We are betting on a couple of quality kids coming good. Sullivan was let go though and a borderline first grader. Fainu doesn't have NRL level experience and Manly were happy to let him go and chased Brooks. Sezer has a one year contract and he is coming back from the ESL since he wasn't wanted here.

I just hope Fainu, Sullivan and Galvin prove themselves capable of being quality NRL players and the sooner the better.

It's also harder for the halves to shine if your outside backs don't offer much.

I'm still hoping that for once our guys outperform and we have a significant turnaround but my expectations are low.
I think Reilly might be in the mix for 6
