Yep, he’s 58 and debuted at 18. Imagine that now !!!No it's actually correct ...checked his Wiki page ....he must have been young when he debuted

Certainly was a unit but took a few years to get the brain and the body together. He is someone who definitely got better with age.and was bigger than anyone on the field. I was at his debut and he looked like a man against boys on his debut
Fulton and Gould never thought Sirro was soft - always one of their first picked for Australia and NSW respectively!Certainly was a unit but took a few years to get the brain and the body together. He is someone who definitely got better with age.
Used to get a bit of flack about being a bit soft but always gave of his best and absorbed some serious punishment.
Yeah, he certainly packed a lot into his younger years and all the detail is a little unclear, to me at least. No it's actually correct ...checked his Wiki page ....he must have been young when he debuted
I know that's Siro's age played against him and a few others, 1 that comes to mind and became a champion, not sure if anyone has heard of a retired player by the name of GLEN LAZARUS lolBorn in 65 - was 20 when he debuted in 85!
It really isn't that hard to believe....

When Sironen came through, Balmain had another outstanding junior second row forward who was of the running variety. His name was Bruce Parnell and he appeared to have a very high ceiling until he broke his leg and that was it. Add Dennis Bendall and Geoff Starling and it is just sad.
Parnell was a great player and i still remember him being carried off at Belmore Oval in a lower grade (his last game). He was destined to be playing FG in that great Balmain pack of the 80's
PCYC, where champions are born.I remember doing boxing at Balmain PCYC and he'd train there every so often. I am positive it was after his injury. I hardly spoke to him but he seemed happy enough.

Yeah , pay by the term now.I think it's a little different now. I paid something like $2 for membership and that was it. My son did boxing and now MMA but he pays a couple of grand per year.
My local ones offer boxing and BJJ
Great for the kids, if run properly.
Yeah, disorganised. That is pretty good. My youngest plays basketball at PCYC but it's terribly run.
I used to box occasionally at Balmain PCYC but Sgt.George Stone took me aside one day and suggested I focus on footy or cricket or any other sport but boxing.I remember doing boxing at Balmain PCYC and he'd train there every so often. Well I used to turn up and do some sparring and they’d say assume your correct starting position, I’d immediately lay flat out on the floor.I didn't do it for long mate. As soon as I realized I could get punched in the head I stopped.
