WT Ownership, The Board & Senior Management - MEGA Thread

It's a bit more grey than that.
No its not grey at all. The HBG met and dismissed the WT Board. Completely Black and White. Would be in the minutes. The WT Board did not meet.

They have dual positions and those 4 make up the majority of HBG. So yes, they dismissed themselves.
The WT Board members did not dismiss themselves, the HBG Board dismissed the WT Board. Im aware they share members but you clearly dont understand Corporate Governance. Its an important distinction.

Yep.....
Would be like the boss of Wesfarmers stepping down from a role at Bunnings....
Sounds like a big deal,
Until you realise he's the Boss of Wesfarmers, And Wesfarmers still owns Bunnings (Mostly)
Isn’t that what Simon Cook did and isn’t he still the CEO of the HBG?

I know that reading is hard.....but you and Gallagher still havent answered any of the points that Ive raised in direct response to what Gallagher said.

If Gallaghers point was that Cavanagh complained that lee & Pascoe was arrogant (which is like saying that Zelensky complained that Putin has a surveying problem), what makes his complaint more important than 97% of this forum?
He didn’t complain. He stated it.
I don’t know if I can ever recall someone putting in an official complaint because they found someone arrogant.

Technically they saw no point to having the dual representation and voted to desolve the board and put in place an interim approach, thus ending their own roles on the WT board.

My god......do you not understand that Cavanagh put in official complaints to WT and WSDRLFC and then a complaint to ASIC alleging actual illegal behaviour? That is the whole point.

But yeah somehow its a validation of Cavanagh because he thought they were arrogant.

Of course it’s based on the review.
But I’m also on the side of believing they voted to remove the amount of HBG directors on the WT board so that they can operate and pull strings away from the public eye.
Why didnt they do it at the previous HBG meeting? Or the one before that, or before that?

if you actually go to the trouble of working out the dates, it may make sense
There was an interesting backhander from Fletcher (Panthers CEO) today . I caught it by accident because I got the radio station mixed up between the big sports breakfast and SEN . Basically he was asked about Luai , and he said ( paraphrasing here so bear with me ) , “ well he’s back training as hard as he ever was, maybe he’s been waiting for this news to drop yesterday “
I don’t really get the joke , or who it was directed at , or even if was a joke in the first place , but yea I found that be an interesting comment .
For me , his delivery didn’t seem like an in joke , it came across as hostile IMO, almost petty or passive aggressive .

Because they weren't under the same scrutiny. The same people that were complicit in everything Lee and Pascoe did are still around pulling the strings.
Nothing has changed just the titles plus the job security and entitlement is now stronger then ever !

The news. As in what happened at WT with the board?

lol that’s bullshit . We have new CEO , a new chairman , none of the Wests oldies are still around , with John Dorahy the favourite to fill that void .
There’s some bloke named Gilbert who will be the HBG rep . And 3 brand new independant board members to be nominated in the coming months .
Who stuck around ? Stapleton ? Hes on most of the committees , and is the conduit between the board and football department . It was smart to keep him .
That’s gibberish , and guessing the agenda I could guess that this another Balmain wests lame grudge thing …

No it’s based on the statement that Wests Ashfield or HBG retain hire and fire rights to the board. The board will not have the opportunity to change funding or something else significant. All the control still comes from HBG.
Meant to add, paraphrasing from the Roy Masters article

Anyone think Lee's comments today were somewhat ironic? How would our (former) Chairman/Major Sponsor (not that this was ever a perceived conflict of interest) have responded to such vitriol? Karma is a ...

That was my take mate . But I’m really just repeating the quote . I didn’t listen to the start of the interview or any of the segments prior , so for me it seemed like a reference to that .
Also, Bryan Fletcher isn’t the CEO of the club but the Panthers Group. Matt Cameron is the one selling the Panthers to Luai. From Fletchers comments he appears to be more in a take it or leave it position and so I guess the backhanded comments make sence.

Don’t know. Needed a good distraction to make the move. Why you asking me? Your the one with all the answers

I do have the answer, because both the HBG and Lee Hagipantelis said what happened out loud in english, but some people here want to pretend that something else happened because they shoot their mouths off without knowing.
