There was no talk about 5 years being a requirement weeks ago until new was circulating the past few days that the Bulldogs were going to go to 5years….

It's not a cooling off period. It's a last right to negotiation in favour of his current club.

This only happens when the contract is submitted to the NRL based on terms agreed by the player and the new club. Terms are agreed.

Does that bind the player to that contract if he does not accept his current clubs offer? That, I don't know.

Agree, though the system seems clunky and there's more to play out with various situations across different players and clubs to see the true impact of this new rule.

It's a strange feeling if our previous board had signed off on this I'd be wtf are we doing, 1.2 mil a year for 5 years.
But it's Richo and he knows what he's doing I have a strange feeling, oh this must be what hope feels like. If Richo thinks it's a good deal that's enough for me.

No doubt he’s leaving Penrith but the way I understand it there’s nothing stopping other clubs submitting new offers to his management. Call it PTSD, I call it scar tissue.

Probably pack out the first 2 or 3 home games at least.......maybe 25k extra fans over 3 weeks.....x $20 av close to 500k already.

Then for the scarfs and caps.

Already seen his head on a news ad on a bus shelter.

If he’s agreed to terms with the Tigers and the agreement has been sent to the NRL only the Panthers can counter it within the 10 day period. So if the dogs want to make a play they have to wait until after the 10 days and hope he changes his mind at the end of it. They can’t interfere until then only Penrith can.

I’m not sure that the case. I think Dogs could submit an offer to his manager tomorrow. Once ten days expire he can knock back the Tigers and inform NRL he’s accepting the Dogs offer. Then I’m not sure if Penrith get another 10 days? It’s stupid.
