Junior Tupou #254

Never been a big fan of him. Always seemed to be overrated on this forum....clutching at straws for something to happen at the Tigers but he never went up a gear. Not hungry enough for the ball, something not there?
Fingers crossed for Lobb or Alaimalo to easily fill in that gap?
Can be unstoppable when he wants to, but other times can't hold the ball.

I don't think those you mentioned will be capable replacements, need to replace externally IMO.

better centre than winger though ? seems to have a mistake in him on the wing
Averillo and Herbie are established centres.

Averillo can play anywhere in the backline but I'd argue his best position is centre or fullback

1 Hammer
2 Jnr Tupou
3 Jake Averillo
4 Herbie Farnworth
5 Jamayne Isaako

Not a bad backline.
Sad to see him go, tbh.
Probably a top 5 backline if tupou a d averillo continue to improve, can't say the same about their pack

Yep we gave him a chance, and as usual he checks out at next contract! Top bloke…
Same feeling here, i rate him on the field, but his mercenary signing history and the constant speculation agouti him always moving on does not feel right to me.. I may just be disappointed to lose him but you would think given his age and history he maybe may have wanted to stick around around at the club that believed in him,, especially with all the recent developments, but adios he says….. 🤔

Every player has a different personality with different motivations. His could be money, or could be living out Sydney, who knows. He might not care about loyalty, which going off his history might be true. I’m not going to mourn his loss until he proves himself.

Just like Blore … they have had ample time to extend him by now, but they have elected not too…

I would have liked to have seen him given a real go in the centres before losing him… this might be his position …

it’s not the end of the world… as there are flaws in his game… but still … would rather keep him another couple of years then 30 years old Olam … regardless of how much money the Storm kick in
