Why wouldn’t Penrith makes us wait the full 10 or 14 days? Our next recruitment decisions are predicated on what happens with the Luai deal, effectively Penrith have frozen our recruitment until this is resolved. You take any small advantage you can get in footy, on and off the field.

Loved Richo’s NO COMMENT today as well. Nice to have a real boss.

Brad Fittler had some nice words to say about Luai and his move to WTs on Ch9. He believes Luai will be very good for WT and said he is one of those players who turns up everyday to play his best, loves his football and is always happy.

The Penrith CEO Fletcher said no early release as the Panthers do not do it. He was happy Luai had obtained a very good and long term contract. He cited salary cap restrictions.

Was that said with a smile or straight face?

Gotta give credit to panthers, every year they lose a big star or two and don’t skip a beat. Meanwhile the rortsters just keep adding quality and still can’t beat them.

Not yesterday or today for Penrith haha. ✌️

When's he officially going to sign for you guys already and end this saga?

The thought of seeing luai in a dogs jersey is very unappealing

Because he's advised them that he will be
At WT (has intention to sign elsewhere),
That's when the 10 days start technically.
They will probably wave their rights once
It's signed today/next few days under the
new rules. Canterbury can't come in now,
He has indicated that he will accept our
offer. Bulldogs don't have a say right now
Unless he rejects our offer. Hope that helps

Bullgrubs. I don't trust Gould. I will be glad when its all finalised.
Good, take him. I can't stand luai and detest the thought of him at our club. If gus is seriously trying to sign him then the Gould detractor numpties on the bulldogs forum were perhaps right about something

I have read the rule mate, you missed my point.

That they've frozen our recruitment, was
that it? Not being smart mate, but you can
make multiple offers at once. We only have
one spot left in any event. Maybe that was
what we were waiting for — Seeing if they
would release him. Agree about what you
said regarding Richo. He's the man haha

I’m lead to believe you cannot make offers unless you have cap space available. So the money for Luai is tied up until we have an answer. Yes it might seem insignificant to you, but while we wait other potential targets could be signing elsewhere. If I’m the incumbent club I’m making us wait the full 10-14 days. It’s a competitive advantage.

Not insignificant to me. And we still had/
have money, they've paid him 2 months.
None of that matters with 1 roster spot
left anyway. If he got a release, it would
have been filled by him. Good day Sir lol

Yeah tbh I'm sure hell be here as well... Everything I've read in the rules points to it
Patience
Just a lot of folks who cannot handle the wait; i.e. no news is bad news.

According to the reports yesterday Tigers had not even officially registered the deal yet and it was to be determined if Panthers would waive the wait period or not. So even if Tigers did everything by the book this week, we might not have official word until Christmas, and even then the NRL might shut down for the break and reopen the books in the New Year.

None of that makes 2025 come around any faster nor make Luai less injured if he was to be granted an early release.
