Cricket Season Thread

I've got a theory that guys who sucked at sport when they were young and just had no hand-eye ball coordination generally bag guys who rose to stardom at a particular sport especially when they start to age a bit and their relexes lose a bit .
I agree David Warner is not quite the batsmen in red ball cricket he once was but take him out and we are left with slow steady but unexciting top order batting .
By the way he recently returned from India where we won the World Cup and David Warner was our top runscorer and his fielding was brilliant.
Out for 34 and was lucky on 20 but the ball that got him broke the surface and spun and leapt at him so the good luck was quickly cancelled out .
The way our guys are batting we look likely to be battling to save or win the test on Day 5
He will get one last go .

Last 2 hours yesterday our bowling negative tactics and first hour today batting a bit negative Hope once ball a little older they click the switch
This negativity has crept into our batting lately.. a lot of pushing and prodding rather than looking to control the tempo through scoring runs.
The two in batting at the moment are the biggest culprits currently. It would be nice to see them score some runs together.

Totally agree .Our No 5 and No 6 will take it to the bowlers but would be nice if our 3 &4 could could come up with a decent partnership

What’s going on man?
Is it really that dark there?
It wasn’t that dark when the went off for bad light, that was BS. I went for a coupla pipes got back and they’re bringing the covers out for a fine mist. It’s hard enough introducing newbies to test match cricket without all the breaks and stoppages. They can play in the dangerous searing 40 degree heat, but a drop of rain? And bad light during the middle of the day does my head in.
I have just moved seats as the roof in the $175/seat area is leaking. Unfknbelievable.
Mrs BF complained about all the cockroaches at the star so the have moved us to the royal suite.

Remember I was saying I'm going to the ODI 4th Feb but after last year I was a little suspect about the weather SCG in the first week of Jan ..Anyway all the best BF and happy you got the accommodation upgrade ,

valé davey dubya @Fade.To.Black 🌹

how fitting his final innings consisted of a drop on 20 and a hopeless poke to a part timer
Not to mention kissed on the arse on just 6 or something when the edged ball jumped over the stumps by millimetres.
9 lives and still hopeless enough not to capitalise on them. I hope the flop gets 1 last innings😂
You bewdy!

So it turns out you can’t count either???
Is there something you actually know about?
Good luck in your successful life champ.

Yeah expensive little jaunt for a few hours of cricket, I’ve never been to a rained out day before, but that’s cricket. This room upgrade is sweet and I’ve won enough at poker to cover the weeks accom anyway. But I tell ya the best thing is getting to that Luai presser and getting my member hat signed. It’s a Shame Davey didn’t bat on for a few more, but I guess that’s why he’s retiring and as you and I both know there’s blokes on here that can do better than Davey.

I tell everyone that NSW is still in the Dark Ages

Yet again weather at the SCG .....crazy
I’ve been to at least 10 games of cricket at the SCG, and this was my first abandoned day.
We lost time to whether in Melbourne too, that’s why they go for five days. I don’t know why it’s a drama. I’m not a fan of going off to bad light, the lights were on. Could have been another hours play before the drizzle set in.
You’re a Qlder though aren’t you? So you just having a dig at NSW again?

I'd never take a blind shot at NSW ....ever

No, of course not. 👍🏻
You guys got the day nighter this year.
I’m thinking about going up for it, but I wanna get a box of some kind and I’m having trouble getting the runners. For some reason no one thinks much of the opposition? I was talking about Day 2 or 3 and one bloke laughed at me saying it’d be lucky to get past day 2.

I am.
Sydney and Melbourne are terrible cities to play international Test cricket in.
