Scott Fulton sacked

Nup...$500k is too expensive to have warming the bench.Think we surprised ourselves with the Laui pickup, and now we have an oversupply of halves.
So reality is..2024 is a shootout between the contenders for 2025!!
Can't fit them all in. We can't play them at 14 either if both Da Silva and Simpkin stay. Sullivan gets his shot this year, if he doesn't go well, try him at 14 with Fainu 6
si

..and
"under the previous management"

😂😂
he had the full support of the Board too!
Until they went
The "process" of his recruitment was a disgrace to any organisation..and his arrogance as a consequence of this process was untenable
Then the quality of his decision making ie AFB and Schuster prioritised ..was the icing on the cake.
He simply wasnt very good.
Am sure he will be paid out for 2024,and if were half smart there will be an NDA plus a "hands off"clause in that contract which prevents him poaching.Always easy to circumvent
maybe the incumbent chairman can finally add some value here?

The Board didn't have any support.

there’s a few interviews Richo did before taking us on where he said you can’t box yourself into a corner where player managers can dictate terms to you, and that you must have the cattle lined up in your pathways to ensure these situations don’t occur.

I’d say he’s not fussed in the slightest.
Agree mate.

The last thing we need is a recruitment manager that is beholden to a player manager whether it be Mario Turdact, Isaac Moses or anyone else.

Correct but that wasn't Fulton's job either. He was head of nrl recruitment not whole organisation and even as head of recruitment for whole organisation you have other people scouting not you
Every good head of recruitment works outside of the top 36 at every club. Most watch development games, school carnivals and trials, Mats, Ball, Flegg, Cup etc. Yes, they have their own network of scouts but you'd be amazed at just how much footy they watch themselves. No way known a head coach can oversee it by himself.

He had to be shown the door. His appointment was utter stupidity. Done without consulting the coaches. Done without knowing his work or personality. Appointed on a hunch and a referral from a radio host. Lee thought he was a genius with this move, but it created problems and helped us win a second spoon.

But that wasn’t Fultons job ! Well according to his title , ie. the reasons McDonnell left . McDonnell was “relegated” to pathways . So it was McDonnell doing all the driving .
Isn’t that what Shannon Gallant does for us ?
A guy who got let go at manly of all clubs for personality reasons , basically walks in here and does the same thing .
I think it’s fair to say , for once I don’t think wests tigers weee issue here . No matter how good this guy is at his job . He couldn’t play with others . Now he’s at Centrelink .

As I said, every good head of recruitment. Yes, Gallant was given the pathways role after McDonnell left, however, Fulton should still have been over every aspect of the clubs recruitment and retention. You just can't operate within the top 36 solely.
But I’m saying Fulton wasn the guy driving around to st pats vs westfields on a Thursday afternoon. So yea he may have been across it , but it wasn’t his role . . Are you saying we shouldn’t have let him go ? I don’t really understand your point .
