Also you know this is a profit/loss thing only as youve seen their spreadsheets right? Whats their profit on a packet of Pringles?

They've come out and said it multiple times.
There are a few articles where they've been
quoted as saying sales have declined in the
last decade or so, there isn't much of an
appetite for those items. No conspiracy bro

The date has already been changed multiple times though?

Jan 26 is the day that the first fleet arrived in Sydney Cove. If you are going to celebrate/commemorate/mourn something, why would you do it on another date?

Point is it's supposed to be a day of celebration - not mourning.
Its not supposed to be anything. You and I can do what ever the hell we want, kinda the whole point in Australia. Both things happened, both are real. Do you celebrate genocide? Do you mourn this great country? Surely you , I and everyone are capable of having an adult, mature approach to something and commemorate everything great with the country whilst acknowledging and having the appropriate response to what it meant/means to indigenous people.

Good article WC. It's a bit old (2018) but good
background on the day. Would be interesting
to see the results of this poll 6 years on in 2024

"Australians don't appear to be particularly
fixated on maintaining the 26 January date.
A recent poll found that 56% of those
surveyed didnt mind when it was held as long as
there was a national day of celebration. Nearly half (49%) believed Australia Day should not be on a day that is offensive to indigenous people".
Wonder how that 49% voted at the Voice referendum. Plenty of hypocrites amongst them.

The board advises on issues that effect indigenous
communities, such as the Dan Murphys megastore
near three dry Aboriginal communities in Darwin.
They don't mandate what should & shouldn't
be sold to a billion dollar business such as Woolies.
God forbid they had a voice on matters that effect
them & their communities, eh. More scare mongering

Yeah, i read that part too.
Also read 'with the mandate to provide ‘frank and fearless’ advice to the wider business on matters related to Indigenous affairs, reporting directly to the Woolworths Group board and engaging with the group’s executive committee and sustainability committee.

The Advisory Board provides counsel on matters including internal policies, advocacy positions, informing commercial and partnering decisions and Indigenous community engagement and empowerment.

Also read 'Woolworths Group managing director of B2B and Everyday Needs and Advisory Board chair, Claire Peters, said the board provided collective expertise and informed insights that Woolworths could draw upon to make meaningful changes.

Look at some of the names on the board... you really think they limit themselves to remote communities?

All I'm saying is there is a lot more behind the decision apart from the commercial side of it ... how much do you think they made celebrating Diwali in every store?

No conspiracy, just go with what they said, definitely no pandering agenda at all Winston. Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon also said the election was rigged, are you saying cause he came out and just said it we should believe it? See how that works.

Anyones guess CK, likely sold in a few stores
where their target demographic shops probably
and not nation wide. Dunno, just guessing...

My view for what it is worth - change The Kings birthday weekend to Australia Day weekend.

Get rid of that stain that is on the calendar each year
That’s a whole different discussion about the Republic debate. Id say it’s well and truly off the agenda at present.
