I celebrate every Saturday. How about Saturday?
Dream on my friend.Fair enough mate, I just would like a day that everyone can celebrate.
Do you understand what indigenous means ?I like this that's why I stated more public holidays have a Aboriginal day have an Australian day and have a say builders day a celebration of the people who help build Australia the Chinese that came for the gold rush the Italian and Greeks who came over in the 50s and 60s and the Slavs who did alot of work on the snowy mountains hydro
Me too, at the racetrack.I celebrate every Saturday.
Just for clarity’s sake , what’s your stance ? I’m reading your posts and struggling to put my finger on it … are you anti Australia Day ?Do you understand what indigenous means ?
And your comments, whilst obviously attempting to be funny, imo are lame.
Ok , I’ll make it very simple for you L.Just for clarity’s sake , what’s your stance ? I’m reading your posts and struggling to put my finger on it … are you anti Australia Day ?
Also I don’t think it’s us and them at all ! I would say I have fairly nuanced opinion about it . I’m happy to change it if it’s going to include everyone . At the same time , it annoys me we have to pander to virtue signalling professional protesters, whilst also having no issue with indigenous folks with genuine concern .
I find people who claim that everything is black and white annoying also . I would say there’s a fair chunk of us happy to live in the grey , and formulate opinions based on rational and best idea wins .
OK BoomerThis is getting up there with woke as one of the worst phrases going around. It’s basically saying “Issue X means jack to me, so it couldn’t possibly mean anything to someone else”.
How do you feel about singing the national anthem?Ok , I’ll make it very simple for you L.
1. I love Australia Day, always have, and been celebrating for a very long time.
2. I hate how non indigenous Australians are being bombarded by all this indigenous “stuff” eg Invasion Day, Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremonies. Imo it’s overkill.
3. I was simply putting forward an idea for them to have an Invasion Day gathering that doesn’t interfere with our celebration of Arrival Day, the same as the USA have for their Indigenous people. Then the Koombya people amongst us can support one, or both, of those days.
4. The older you get the more you hate grey, black and white ( pardon the pun) becomes much more in tune with your way of thinking. Imo the biggest issue we have is that good old common sense has gone out the window.
5. The lamb will be on my bbq on Friday, washed down with appropriate Aussie liquids.
And any Aussies are welcome to join me and my family to celebrate all the advances that have been made since the arrival of our British ancestors.
Id rather Ganggajang - sounds of thenHow do you feel about singing the national anthem?

Love anything patriotic and nationalistic, but think the song “ I am, you are, we are Australian” much more stirring and patrioticHow do you feel about singing the national anthem?
Champion TO, can you please post the Seekers video of that song so everyone can get the feel for it.Love anything patriotic and nationalistic, but think the song “ I am, you are, we are Australian” much more stirring and patriotic
( and inclusive).
Maybe it will become the national song of the Republic when it happens.
Champion @Halbrowne61 - I also LOVE this song, it really should be our nation's anthem!!Champion TO, can you please post the Seekers video of that song so everyone can get the feel for it.
I get the sense most people could unite behind Du Hast as an anthem as well.

We look at stuff differently, I guess.I think the culture war is deciding on and insisting Australia Day is celebrated 26 Jan. Can't those who want to honour that date have First Fleet Day or something actually related?
