T20, Sixers.Whose we?
Literally the first time in the history of Australian Test Cricket that the team has 4 bowlers with 250 test wickets each to their name. I would argue this is the greatest all round bowling attack Australia has ever had.The bowlers aren’t what they are cracked up to be. There are plenty of times where they cop some stick. Just look at them in the last few Tests not finishing off the tail. They are carried by the captain.
Same, they’re up there. Theres some harsh critics out there…Literally the first time in the history of Australian Test Cricket that the team has 4 bowlers with 250 test wickets each to their name. I would argue this is the greatest all round bowling attack Australia has ever had.
I thought Green had dropped 2?This is turning out to be a very bad toss to lose
Weve had to bowl both innings in hot humid conditions whereas Windies had a cooler overcast day . Still losing 4-24 no excuse Smith ,Marnus and Green out to stupid shots maybe Head a touch unlucky with a legside strangle . Also Smith dropping 2 and Green dropping 1 hasn't helped .We look like a tired side and with a new batting order that's not working .
I am prepared to give The Run Smith a little more time than two tests, and Green gets that same amount of time. Once times up Smith goes back to four before I’m dropping him. We are in a post Warner transitional stage, we need to be patient, especially while we’re still winning, but a plan B needs to be in place like Bancroft or Renahaw knowing he needs to keep in good touch. This is turning out to be a very bad toss to lose

Both have dropped 2I thought Green had dropped 2?
Yes I find that annoying as well.Steve Smith is becoming a burden .His batting has been off of late with poor timing and his dramatic move to outside off stump where his head is moving and outside the line of the ball .
Now he's dropped 2 catches in Windies 2nd innings one off Starc last night and now one off Green .I find it annoying that when he gets out or drops one he makes hand gestures to indicate either the wicket or the ball did something strange like its not his fault
Sounds nice. Perfect conditionsIt might've been overcast but the humidity was oppressive and no breeze.
No way was it 'cool' it felt like 35+ degrees from 10AM until 10PM.
But yep...Smith drops a lot of catches, often the easy ones - does my head in when moronic commentators like Brayshaw then talk up what 'safe hands' he usually has.
Marnus is even worseYes I find that annoying as well.
Never knock a champion but geeze he’s been off for a while now with the bat and his fielding is following suit.
How good was it, ye olde sandshoe crusher. The dreaded sandshoe crusher removed the last WI batsmen and probably cost them a bowler.Interesting challege from here,if we lose 2 or 3 early wickets it could be very interesting
You don’t rate him in the field?Marnus is even worse
That’s a smashed toe for sure lolThe dreaded sandshoe crusher removed the last WI batsmen and probably cost them a bowler.Interesting challege from here,if we lose 2 or 3 early wickets it could be very interesting
Warner has been poor against our major test opponents for some time. I’m speaking about against England (against whom we have not won an away series for over 20 years) and against India, who have beaten us in the last 4 test series, although we beat them in the one-off WTC.For those who think Warner's retirement not a big deal
Smith twice opened twice failed
Yes, the numbers do not lie.Warner has been poor against our major test opponents for some time. I’m speaking about against England (against whom we have not won an away series for over 20 years) and against India, who have beaten us in the last 4 test series, although we beat them in the one-off WTC.
For those who think Warner’s retirement IS a big deal let me record his record against these major test opponents over the past 5 years.
2019 England v Aus – 5 tests; average 9.5
2020-21 Aus v India – 2 tests; average 16.75
2021-22 Aus v England – 5 tests; average 34.13
2022-23 India v Aus – 2 tests; average 8.67
2023 Aus v India – 1 test; average 22.0
2023 England v Aus – 5 tests; average 28.5
I’d suggest that against our major test opponents Warner’s retirement is no big deal. He is one of the reasons our record in England and against India in recent years is not great.
We’ve all seen his recent stats and anyone who watch’s cricket with half a brain would have banned him from touring many years ago, I would have torn up his passport after his first tour.Warner has been poor against our major test opponents for some time.
