Lachlan Galvin #277

Yeah bro, Max played for Balmain, he's the
real deal. He was always going to go to
rugby though, old St Joseph's college boy
and his old man and the family favours rugby.
He would have made a great league fullback
Given his dad played over 100 ARL matches and only a couple of appearances for the Wallabies and club rugby you'd have thought he may have pushed Max to focus on the NRL more than rugby, though professional opportunities were limited at the time Peter was playing.

100%....
I see the point of a Sezer in the Squad, I don't see value in him on the park...

There's blokes at Leeds that have an opinion of him similar the opinion here of a recent former half....
And that's over in that Kindergarten Comp.

I can see him plummeting from a favourite fast...
They came. 8th in a 12 team.comp...no wonder they're looking for a scapegoat

I admit I saw very little. ESL last year

How about we all trust that Benji is much better placed than all of us to make a decision on how soon Galvin will be ready to play NRL.
In the few games I watched Sezer play for Leeds last season, he did not look anything like a player who was capable of coming back and making a positive impact at NRL level.
I know we signed him for his experience, leadership and kicking game, but again I think it’s best we just trust Benji to make the decision on who our best halves combination will be in 2024.

Back then he would not have had the interchange like they do now so he could get some game time and be eased into the game
Different game back than, okay they had to contend with biff and bash and the odd stiff arm and massive shoulder charges, but they did not have 17 super fit massive framed athletes running at them for 80 minutes. The game back than opened up a lot after the first 20 minutes, now it’s full on for the whole game.

Although of what I have seen of Galvin he may just one of those kids who is up for the challenge

Give him a go before you start kicking him

Played 8 years in the NRL without barely making a ripple....
Then 4 years in a second grade comp where he's widely considered a flop

How much more of "A Go" do you think he might need?

has been fast-tracked into the top side at five-eighth following injuries to new signings Latu Fainu and Jayden Sullivan.

Fainu and Sullivan may be fit for the kick-off in early March

labelled by those in the know as the next Nathan Cleary

Tigers insiders say the spot is his to lose.

:poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:
If you have the spot who else but you can lose it ?

Yeah it's hard to compare the two eras, because as you said, the game was very different.

I'd be cautious of expecting too much from Galvin this year. I do hope he absolutely kills it, but just conscious that he is only 18.

We will soon see how he goes against men with a few pre seasons under their belt.

Agreed it was different back then but with the interchange now it could see him get a taste of First Grade and ease him into hopefully a very long successful career at the Tigers

We gave Brooks ten years....where did that get us...I'm with Ink,give him a go and let him do his best for us,we can't get any worse than we have been..

You give kids like Galvin a chance to prove themselves. Guys north of 30 are fair game as you have had a long time to form an opinion. They are far from unknown.
